Bleeding time is a maximum time till blood bleeds, With the Duke method, the patient is pricked with a special needle or lancet, preferably on the earlobe or fingertip, after having been swabbed with alcohol. The prick is about 3-4 mm deep. The patient then wipes the blood every 30 seconds with a filter paper. The test ceases when bleeding ceases. The usual time is about 2-5 minutes.
Procedure for determination of bleeding time-
1- Sterilize the finger with the help of alcohol swab for determination of bleeding time
2- Massage gently to that finger so that blood flow may get increase and then it will help in for determination of bleeding time
3- Prick the finger with pricker pen
4- Place a drop on the surface of filter paper at every 30 sec without applying any pressure for determination of bleeding time
5- note down the time at which there is no mark of blood on filter paper. This is final bleeding time

I got confused. In some videos it shows they put blood drop from 30 sec and count the number of spots × 30 is bleeding time but you have put the blood drop from 0sec and counted the spot from 0 sec. So I request you to clear me about this doubt

The usual time is about 2-5 minutes.but in this practical blood stop coming out at near about 1.27 sec. Depends on several conditions like room temp, and person to person.
