SOLVED || Missing Mother and Daughter FOUND 23 years later Under Bridge In Lake
SOLVED: 23-year-old cold case: Samantha Hopper & Daughter Cortney Holt
#coldcase #missingperson #truecrime
On this episode of Chaos Divers, we were incredibly thankful to provide answers to the family of Samantha Hopper and Daughter Cortney Holt.
As all the pieces fall into place and more questions are being answered, it is with sadness and relief that as of yesterday, the remains of Samantha Hopper and Cortney Holt have been confirmed in the blue Ford Tempo pulled from Lake Dardanelle.
To assist the family with the costs associated with bringing their loved ones home, please visit the EverLoved website they have set up.
Samantha Jean Hopper's Memorial Website on Ever Loved
It was a great honor to be able to provide answers to this loving family after 23 years
Once again, we had the pleasure of working alongside Adventures with Purpose. We were able to give answers to a family who has needed answers for over 23 years as to the disappearance of 19-year-old Samantha Hopper, 22-month-old Cortney Holt, and Samantha’s unborn daughter. They vanished on Sept. 11, 1998, in Samantha’s blue Ford Tempo. They were located near the Pleasant View Bridge in Lake Dardanelle. On this day, many tears were shed by so many involved. We are grateful that many of those tears were tears of relief.
We are thankful to their family for allowing us to assist them in bringing their loved ones home. If you would like to assist the family, please visit the EverLoved website they have set up: everloved.com/...

Humanity could learn so much from all of you who work together bring loved ones home to these families who can now lay them to rest. By combining your resources, special skills and above all else your passion to make a difference the outcomes are becoming more and more positive in bringing closure. Dezarae thank you and your beautiful mother for being so brave and allowing this to be shared so the word gets out there to other families who might be in similair circumstances, they might now know there could possibly people who can give them some hope also. Your Mother lives on in you and your treasured daughter, she knows you and her mother never gave up to bring her and her babies home. Love and prayers to all from Australia.

Blessing from Scotland to you and all you family, please hug your gran from me, as it’s the most painful feeling is to lose a child, also hugs to yourself from your mum and little sisters, if there is a heaven they will be looking down on you and your mum will be so proud of the young woman you have grown up to be x💕 also congratulations to Chaos divers and DWP, everyone working together warms our hearts, without all of you there would be more heartache in the families hearts, knowing what happened will ease a little pain as will being able to lay them to rest, you guys will never know just how much peace of mind you have given each family , as for us watching your videos it makes us cry but also smile knowing that those you have found are finally back with their families, bless everyone of you from the bottom of my heart x💖

I remember a case from years ago where something very similar happened. Apparently a mother went off a bridge, but this time did not sink all the way, another civilian driving across the bridge saw the back end sticking out and called the police. Police was sure all occupants were drowned and were taking it slow getting to the vehicle. All of a sudden you hear the faint screaming of what sounded like “help help” coming from a female. THAT got the crews moving double time. They rushed to the vehicle, and discovered the baby in the back seat, cold, upside down, inches from the water, but still alive! Immediately they got her out and into an ambulance. The baby had been rescued just in the nick of time. But the Mother was long gone, drowned still strapped to her seat. That made everyone question where died the cries of help come from? They were recorded on tape!

Not only are you doing this which by the way a lot of us would find hard to do, you are doing it with the utmost eloquence and respect. I've been with your channel pretty much since day one and I've seen you grow! Do not worry about the few who are not on board with the direction your channel's taking. The filmography is beautiful and for folks like me who have a hearing deficit I totally appreciate the closed captionings being so accurate. You guys just keep doing what you're doing if you can, I just wanted to let you know I appreciate you and as the many families you have helped also appreciate you. You have kindness in spirit that is totally genuine. There's a lot of heart there from your entire group. Others can't fake that! It has to come from the heart. Incredible. I'm shocked at the number of vehicles that are in the water. This group of people have solved so many missing person cases, simply by looking. I say "simply", but we can all see, it's not an easy task to dive and search and tow. There are times your own safety is put at risk. Mind blowing. You're all so humble and grateful and professional about the whole thing too. This terrible world needs more people like you in it.

Every case is breaking my heart. I research "death" every day, creating my videos, but this is much worse for me. Thinking how terrifying must have been to die in such a way, having the time to think about your loved ones, what you leave behind, and how much you wanted to see them again. Feeling helpless in a car full of water is probably the worst way to die.

Thanks to the whole Chaos Divers team. On a side note: ANOTHER missing soul found right in an obvious spot that should have been searched early on (23 years early on). This seems to be a recurring theme. It just makes me wonder and think a lot on how much effort ($) was allowed in the departmental budget or did they quit looking thinking she had run away from a bad marriage and were waiting for her to show up?

Remember 20 plus years ago sonar wasn’t what it is now. There are a lot of reasons them not being found till now. We’re talking about miles and miles of area to search and many possibilities of the peoples disappearance. Who knows what the search team did or didn’t do. To me, it seems that most of these missing people went missing a very long time ago and after years and years of the people not being found, their cases get pushed further to the rear of the line. All these search shows really don’t demonstrate the needle in the haystack of the search.

As a former member of EMS I participated in many search and rescue calls both on land and in water In most places this is done by volunteer depts. The focus is rescue of the injured and survivors. Once authorities determine that the rescue should be ended the case goes to investigators most of which are not equipped to do this kind of search . It's a glitch in the system that's difficult to solve for legal reasons.

All I am saying is: They picked the commonest route, the obvious 2 bridges and AWP took one, Chaos divers took the other. The car was in 16 feet of water (Unless I misunderstood). Great team work there, AWP & Chaos Divers. Had Jared had to do that all by himself, it would've taken at least 2 days to find Samantha & babies, thus less time to solve the next cases. It's definitely a great thing that Jared started, but also great that others such a Jacob have caught the vision to help in this great work. I'm still absolutely shocked at how many people are submerged in vehicles in water - and that may just be scratching the surface of the amount of bodies submerged in water in the USA. You guys are on a divine calling, returning missing people's remains to their loved ones. Stay strong. Keep focused. Strive to remain a team, whether helping together or separately, as the case may be. God bless you guys. And for Samantha's family, may God comfort you, strengthen and heal you as you walk this "discovery" phase of your grief, where you now know where she was (although maybe not all the answers as to how the accident happened), a d grant you peace as you lay the 3 bodies to rest, commemorate them and have a place to go visit to grieve. May the finding of the bodies alone be enough to give you immense peace, despite the unanswered questions this side of Eternity and the "what if's". Hang tough.

Another very well done video. Always remember to put your purpose in the forefront of your mind. Don't dwell on the sad, negative part of your finds and recovery. You ALL need to stay positive and keep talking to each other and telling each other how you're feeling. Lindsay, the same goes for you, keep talking to them but also express your thoughts as well. Great job done by all involved. Now her family has answers and can start moving on.

A deep sigh breathed. These days my heart stays shattered because of current events in the world. And so it is as I watch these videos, those of Chaos Divers and Adventures With Purpose, and my thoughts always go to the lives of those people who lost the loved one(s). Their whole lives have been shaped and molded by the disappearence of those lost in the deep waters. While heartbreaking even just to watch the video records of the bringing home of those lost, I can't help but feel a surge of appreciation for how strong the surviving family has had to become. Way to go, to those beautiful individuals who find and retrieve those that deep waters have claimed. You all are amazing and I know I speak for most when I say, even for those who have never experienced the loss of a loved one in deep waters, we love you for what you do for these families. We thank you for the healing of it all. May our great Father God continue to protect, strengthen and guide you. Our troubled world needs you and you have answered his call. Too, thanks MUST go out to those that support you through their donations in all the ways that you need them to. Without knowing what that entails, I believe there would not be the number of closures without them. Such grief, yet, through it all, such a goodness shining through. Our world is so much better BECAUSE you good folks are in it.

Every time you post one of these videos I feel the emotion rolling off of you. I feel the sadness and torment that rolls out of you even knowing you’ve done something very few can do. Please never loose your humanity. Also make sure you have a way to decompress for this. You and your team are amazing.

Dear Jacob, Lindsay, Eric, AWP and all the others who helped with bringing Samantha Hopper and her daughter Courtney home after 23 years. Your compassion, dedication, devotion and depth of caring with each family is so admirable. I know it had to be extra emotional on everyone when there's a child involved in these cases and my heart went out to all of you on this one. I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for what you have done not only for this family but for all the others families you've helped and will continue to do so. Again, Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the selfless work that each one of you do! RIP Samantha and Courtney P.S. I just donated and I wished it could have been more. Love you guys!

Good job Jacob, Eric and Lindsay. And another well done video, Lindsay. Definitely some tearful moments. There was a moment when all 3 women were standing there, watching the boat with such a hopeful look on their faces; it just tore my heart out. 23 long years was in that look and you guys (CD & AWP) were the only hope they had. R.I.P Samantha and babies. Family, you're in my prayers.

I've been gradually working my way through your back catalogue in an effort to provide some small amount of support that way, as well as watch new videos released & this one took me a while to watch as I knew the emotion I felt watching the other team perspective. Never stop being you, all 3 of you are so sensitive & compassionate to the families, the situation & the responsibility you have with your task. Watching Jacob help the towing company and LE to ensure Samantha and her babies would be carefully transported broke me but reinforced just how big your hearts are. Give each other a squeeze and know always how much what you do, and how you do it, means ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
