At the time I made that video, I was using a tablet that I bought on ebay that has no name. It comes with a software that I have used for many years in the classroom called powerpresenter re. It became too old for windows 7 and I changed over to a new software you can download on the internet for free called open sankore. I now use a Wacom tablet. I teach high school math and don't need all the fancy artistic tools that come with most graphics software and found the open sankore was just about perfect for the classroom an videos. I do wish I had more ink color selection. I have been doing these in the classroom for 7 years and like to joke that Sal Khan stole my idea (which of course is not true). Let me know if that helped. Those of you asking why she chose 2, and 3 it's because it's Least common factor What ever variable you're trying to cancel you have to make them equal for example if I wanna cancel y 2x-5y+z=? 3x+2y+3z=? you're going to have to find the least common factor which in this case would be to x2 the first equation and x5 the 2nd equation 4x-10y+2z=? 15x+10y+15z=? Now Im able to cancel Y Hope you understand

Is it possible to eliminate 2 variables at once? For example: The system: 2x+3y-z+9 x-3y+z=-6 3x+y-4z+31 Can you do this to solve: 2x+37-z+9 + x-3y+z=-6 = 3x=3 x=1

You can check your work by plugging in your answers to x, y, and z back into ANY of the original equations, if the equation is true, you did your work correctly :)
