Great initiarive. Ads should come in TV across India regarding Buy less and recycle more. Not just clothes, it applies to all things.

Absolutely correct. I have same thoughts.

A request, if there's provision to drop the used clothes to their center it would be very helpful... Sometimes the waste collected from houses might get mixed up and end up in landfill...

The mention of women from “ Waste picker Families” at around 5:58 was unwarranted. It reinforces the CASTE vestige that still haunts India’s social fabric. Going forward please ensure that you speak with dignity about the workers who are engaged in such essential services in our communities.
@PadminiAshokАй бұрын
Thank you for raising this important concern. In our project, we recognize that terminology carries significant weight, particularly when it comes to dignity and identity. While the community often identifies their family profession with terms like "waste pickers," the intent of our initiative is the opposite - to break the association of a profession with caste and to foster dignity in the work of waste recovery and recycling. By involving wider stakeholders, our aim is to elevate the perception of this essential work. Moving forward, we may adopt alternative terminology, such as "waste recovery professionals," or other inclusive and empowering terms that align with the community’s aspirations and the project's goals.

Dignity and respect for waste pickers and the work of waste picking is something we are absolutely committed to. One of our partners in Saamuhika Shakti is BBC Media Action, and their campaign is to bring awareness of the important work of Bengaluru's invaluable waste pickers to the fore, and to foster with the population of Bengaluru better appreciation for the critical role they play everyday. Unsold leftover clothes can be shredded and used for spinning. There are many units in Tirupur that can shred fabric
@rs-sl1tnАй бұрын
Instead those clothes can be donated to locals
@saamuhikashakti4097Ай бұрын
Yes, you are correct. The Textile Recovery Facility is aggregating all the waste from different areas and sending to units to Tirupur.
@saamuhikashakti4097Ай бұрын
@@rs-sl1tn thank you, yes, we are collecting from local units and aggregating to send to bigger units to Tirupur and Panipat.

Can shredded clothes be converted to new textile fabric without adding any new cotton or polyester fibres?
@smruthirao9081Ай бұрын
If u shred unsold clothes it is a big wastage of money. Either donating or selling for discounted price is better.

I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

I've had designer pieces and knockoffs of kislux . I ultimately prefer the knockoffs because I'm not worried about scratching it, preserving it, or someone stealing it.

Luxury brands only change their strategies for the super rich...The price increases of Fendi, LV, Givenchy and the like are nonsense. Therefore, those ordinary rich people or middle- and upper-class people who can really afford it need to think twice before buying it. If they are just looking to save face, they will buy from kislux .
