Just completed this and wooohoooo! Vtec works. Perfect solution! Paid 600 bucks for a clean low mile. 06 Element that wouldn't stay at 65. I just floated down the Hwy at 80...no problem. Along with a new tensioner and window regulator im at $735 total investment. Thanks so much!

Helpful hint remove the passenger front tire and remove the access panel that is built into the inner fender well and you can get to the vetch much easier than laying across your engine.

You can open the hood even more by putting the rod on the lower slot at the end of the hood as opposed to the slot where you have it in this video, this way you don't bang your head on the rod.

We did this and unit started no issue...we let it sit 24hr and was shocked it wouldn't start only turn over...we remover the new solenoid and when back to old that scan OBD code 2646, nothing STILL, just turns over NO start? any advice?? Thanks Kim
@sigmundburdin84854 жыл бұрын
This new symptom is likely unrelated to the valve. You may have accidentally removed a wire or two that involves ignition. Check all wires on this unit, nearby, andy involving your battery, clean and tight electrical connections.

I’m having an oil leak on my passenger side in the rear of the engine it’s leaving a couple drops of oil all over my drive way do you think the vtec is my problem?
@EyeOnAiman4 жыл бұрын
There are many possible causes for an oil leak. If you're familiar with cars, I suggest you try to look around the web for possible causes and investigate the cause yourself. Since I probably won't be able to provide specific guidance on this, I suggest that you bring your car to a mechanic to check, since it's better to be safe than sorry. Cheers!

@gloglo12754 жыл бұрын
Hello, Would a faulty spool valve give misfires? I have new spark plugs, moved the coils to the cylinder indicating an issue, and the misfire still on that cylinder. Removed the side solenoid, and cleaned it. Verified it was working. Fuel injectors all 4 make it almost stall when removing one at a time. Same with ignition coils one at a time. It has a flashing check engine light and it shakes pretty bad at 35mph+. Thanks

My rsx doesn't have a check engine light but it doesn't rev past 5 rpms. So I'm guessing it's on limp mode. Douse any one out there know what the problem could be.
@HunchoMig214 жыл бұрын
Check your oil level bro. Happened to me couple days ago was limping after 4K rpms. Check oil level first. If not, then start looking for the leak near the VTEC Solenoid.

I bought an 08 Accord that supposedly had a bad transmission but i Googled the problem and the guy said there is a relay under the hood and i opened the fuse box and the top was gone off of it so i replaced it and i got a great car for 200 dollars.
