I think it's important to remember that everything up to the point of Zelda going to the past in the first place is when everything suddenly changed before the Hyrulian's eyes. The game begins with Zelda and LInk from BoTW trying to learn more about the Zonai which were mostly unheard of, but when they find Ganondorf who seems to know about LInk and Zelda, just at that point just before Ganondorf awakens, Zelda picks up the secret stone, sealing her fate to going back in time. at that very moment is likely when a massive time rift came, because Rauru wouldn't have known at all about Link and Zelda originally had Zelda not gone back in time to tell him about Link. So literally at the beginning of the game, just as Zelda grabs the secret stone, that's when the time line shifts from everything we knew up to that point, to a new timeline where Zonai ruins were activated and falling all over and thus many events would've happened slightly differently (just very slightly, as most of the blights are based on the Gloom). Link wakes up in the Sky temple having been saved presumably by Rauru and Mineru in some way. Other things of note is how the Sheikah wouldn've have needed to develop advanced technology because the Zonai technology was revealed to them so they spent thier life studying that instead in the new timeline. That's why almost all Sheikah tech was mostly abandoned or destroyed despite BoTW having happened mere years ago and no one seems to recall the 4 Guardians because again, the Sheikah tech wasn't necessary since the Zonai tech existed. As for why the Zonai tech didn't exist before but does now. It's all thanks to Mineru's promise to Zelda at the very last moment of her life. Up to the final moment, Mineru says to Zelda "What should we do?" and Zelda convinces her to have faith in Link. Given Mineru in modern day constantly says "I must atone for my sins" she seems extremely remorseful about allowing Zonai tech to get in the hands of evil and in the original timeline, likely "destroyed" all evidence of Zonai life she could. burned all books and destroyed all constructs so that only mere hints remained as ruins. It's only because of Zelda's promise that she decided to keep the constructs alive and reveal the Zonai tech until LInk would one day find them and she could pass on her soul and message to him as she ultimately did. Rauru also comments on how much the world has changed and alarm that the constructs are still serving to this day, but because he died before Mineru could really tell him her plan, he might not have been aware of Mineru's promise to Zelda. At the end she does say "I will return to my brother and Sonia" satisfied that she can face them again after doing her part in making the world peaceful and knowing Zonai tech is in good hands. However....all this kind of means that the Zelda dragon theory would be kind of false because that time split happened just before Zelda awakened Ganondorf. The robot wouldn't have has an impact on the Zelda dragon at all, but then, the Robot may not have existed at all because the new Zonai technology means the Sheikah wouldn't have had a need to build the tools to fend off the Calamity, they would instead rely on the Ancient hero to hold it back. So in a sense, Age of Calamity is "Canon" but exists in a continuity that technically no longer exists anymore because of Mineru allowing the Zonai technology to remain in anticipation of Link stopping Ganondorf once and for all. and as for why at that particular moment that Link is the chosen one.... well he would be the one who found Rauru's arm so Rauru could give it to him and thus the power of light. Through Rauru's hand, Mineru's construct could be sure that the correct Link indeed is there and she could guide him through the purah pad to the constuct factory to build a suit and help aid LInk in defeating Ganondorf. It seems it's really just sheer luck that Rauru sealed Ganondorf hoping his lock would hold him forever, or that "one day, a hero in the future will destroy what remains of his corpse" Only knowing LInk by name because Zelda told him but he could buy the descendents of Hyrule time.

The thing about meeting Ganon Earlier cannot even happen Because the reason Ganondorf reawakened is that the Castle is damaged and not fixed while being guarded for 100 Years by Godlike War-Machines and keeping not a single soul near the Castle (you can find the inscription in the cave leading to Hyrule Castle which confirms this statement), Hyrule Castle not being fixed then causes the seal to weaken over the one century. Meaning his Awakening must be delayes far in the Future and Ganondorf's Miasma/Gloom would never leak
@Slimeonian9 ай бұрын
Well you could argue that Calamity Ganon in AoC is much stronger than Botw’s Calamity Ganon, thanks to It gaining power and Malice from the botw timeline. And thus Hyrule Castle could theoretically have been damaged a lot more during AoC, and lead to Ganondorf waking up earlier

Keep in mind Zelda/Hylia was keeping a seal on the Calamity for those 100 years. If the castle is an extension of the seal on the Demon King, then maybe Zelda's seal on the Calamity inside said castle was enough to keep the Demon King from awakening. Interestingly enough, in Botw's timeline, Link got the Master Sword _before_ he became Zelda's appointed knight. Meanwhile in AoC's timeline he doesn't get the Master Sword until they all go to the Korok Forest to find it. In addition, in AoC Calamity Ganon actually returns _early_ because of the extra malice that formed Harbinger Ganon. So it would not be too farfetched for Ganondorf to awaken way earlier in the AoC timeline (since in Botw there's a full 100 year gap when Link was in the shrine of resurrection).
@SkyLinkTheory9 ай бұрын
Great point, thank you for that - that's absolutely right!
@Luigifan3058 ай бұрын
There's actually a potential explanation for the Master Sword thing, but it's a blink-and-you-miss-it detail from the Guardian of Rememberance DLC. Once Terrako and Harbinger arrive in the past, and Terrako gets buried under rubble at the coliseum, there's a fade to black, and in the following scene, not only is Terrako himself absolutely caked in a ridiculous amount of dust and grime, but even the rubble he was buried under is now covered in moss. Clearly, a lot more time passed between his arrival in the past and his meeting with Link than the game might lead you to believe, and if we consider this, it provides a reasonable explanation behind the Master Sword discrepancy. Namely, that Harbinger started subtly changing things in order to try and keep Link away from the Master Sword, possibly by making the forest more dangerous. The age at which he originally found the sword was 10 years old btw, which would mean that Terrako and Harbinger didn't just go back a few weeks or months, but 7 whole years! Coincidentally, if true this would mirror the circumstances that created the Child Timeline quite closely, which is neat to think about. Admittedly there is one hiccup with this theory though. First of all, even before Terrako gets buried, the soldiers know what a guardian is, but that's not actually impossible since it apparently took several years to excavate all of the Divine Beasts and other Sheikah Tech, so maybe the first Guardians had been found by now. The bigger issue is that we also see Impa in that mission, and she doesn't look any younger than how she does in the rest of the game, but again, that's not impossible. Not everyone changes dramatically in such a time, some people look near-identical at ages 17 and 24. (especially when it's just a game and nobody would want to make a whole new Impa model for a 5-minute appearance in a single DLC mission lol) Ultimately, these issues are so minor and easy enough to explain that they would be worth dealing with in order to prevent the Master Sword issue from becoming a genuine plot hole instead.

The idea of some divine fate or timeline inevitability made me think that Zelda becoming the light dragon could explain why the three timelines would ever merge back together. If Zelda underwent draconification before the timeline split in OoT (which I'm not 100% sold on, but its a possibility) then the light dragon would exist in all 3 branches of the timeline. In order to prevent a paradox each timeline would need to end up with a BOTW/TOTK series of events to explain Dragon-Zelda's presence.

I have a theory about how terriko got the ability to timetravel. We know that Zelda has time and light powers which explains how she didn't age over the 100 years in BOTW. But what we also see is that she can somehow inpart some of her power in to people. Link is given her recall ability in TOTK by zelda's will. Terriko was built by zelda and maby she unintentionally imparted some of her power in to him. But like hers the time powers lied dormant till she activated her powers at fort Hatano, which explains the sudden flash of light in the tower when Terriko is activated. Terriko utilizes the time powers to travel back in time in a similar way to what zelda does and travel back in time to somewhere safe. But when they return to their rightful time, if Zelda is there at time she wakes up from crystal, maybe that's how time reconciled to a closed loop. If this holds true, I’ll be glad we’ll getting a new AoC game.
@Joe-ik1ph8 ай бұрын
It's possible that the timeline splits at Point B rather than Point D. Instead of Zelda from TotK appearing, something different happens. Either Zelda from AoC , a Zelda from farther into the future, or maybe no Zelda appears. This creates a timeline that's similar to BotW/TotK, but it can have a few differences. We actually see some of these differences in AoC. In BotW, Link draws the Master Sword before the Champions are chosen, but the reverse happens in AoC. This can also explain how Master Kohga is alive during AoC. The Point B timeline split caused Kohga to be born 100 years early. I don't really believe that he is somehow didn't age over 100 years.

Hyrule Castle would never be fully destroyed or sit to rot in the AoC timeline and thus Ganondorf would never overwhelm Raurus body and never wake up.

@Brandon-jf9cv5 ай бұрын
I know I’m late, but this does not work. Ganondorf would never wake up in the age of calamity timeline. The reason he was able to break the bind on his heart is because the calamity destroyed the castle. The castle was helping the seal and making sure no one disturbed the it. as we can see in the final moments of the imprisoning war Raruu was below Ganondorf and his back was only slightly arched. But in the opening of tears Ganondorf is bent almost 90° with Raruus hand above him, if it wasn’t for the calamity, destroying the castle 100 years before he could have kept him there forever and maybe even won

(attention: original text in Spanish) SkywardSword splits into 2 branches The temporal branch of the triforce (minish cap) And the temporary branch of the Zonan, (where Hylian Rauru is never born): 1-ANCIENT CALAMITY (Zonan hero without blood of gods or royalty vs "malice" of unknown name and war of the fallen of the underground, after this battle the Zonan hero places a sacred sword in a stone and sends it to the future so that has more strength when it must be used again, the inhabitants of those lands begin to call the group of different towns: Hyrule) 2-AGE OF FORGOTTEN -> Ganon-Dorf [Powerful-Man in Gerudo?] is born, capable of channeling magic and is sealed in the war of banishment, the white dragon hides, the underground is closed, the story of the founders and the Zonan is popularly erased to the Hylians, carried secretly by the wise men and the younger brother of Princess Sonnia against the Yiga saboteurs who had some Zonan knowledge, that is why the bearers of the stones decided to raise the ruins. They zone higher than normal... (A big-hearted Hylian "Voe" appears and helps the 7 gerudo against a threat, preventing their extinction... yet it is unknown history falls hidden buried and anti shiok policies they remained forever in their culture) 3-NEW CALAMITY (during the next 10,000 years of a supposed peace, the sheikah continually manufactured advanced technology and the master sword magically appears in the kolog forest, becoming 2 at the same time... The sheikah discover that the name of that ancient Malice of the cataclysm is called Ganon, adding him to the mural of the premonitory legend, together with the poorly drawn hero Zonan and blindly trusting the manipulable guardians... "Finally, according to Aonuma, the most distant era of the saga arrives"... A boy named Link is born and after 17 years Princess Zelda cites a ritual of prophecies about possible parallel pasts that never occurred referring to time, twilight and ocean... then a disaster would happen that would put Link to sleep in a lethargy of about 100 years. ) 4-GANON BOTW (ganon is quickly defeated along with the potential of the 4 beasts and the master sword... the crimson moons disappear and the yiga hide digging underground... after the unexpected arrest of Vah Ruta, in the next 5 years, the modern sheikah decided to destroy the knowledge of the shrines, destroy the guardians and replace the towers, to prevent them from turning against them again) 5-GANONDORF AWAKENS -> the surface weapons deteriorate, the white dragon is released from below or above and some drawings appear on the ground... the underground opens along with some ruins and the celestial islands fall to a height normal and some strange rocks will be generated on the ground "the sanctuaries zone" that will open a portal to the past to the era of the founding of Hyrule, including second floor sanctuaries, which do not have roots... false Zelda appear, being the yiga women who met Zelda dressed as a Hylian and Ganondorf's elemental heralds who met Zelda dressed as a zonan... 5 minutes later the first crimson moon in years would occur) 6-A NEW CRIMSON MOON (the corrupted golem of the castle abyss, created by Ganondorf, generates the ancient warrior golems, capable of appearing in celestial structures, sacred structures and also capable of destroying any organism, including the evil one... the royal griok of evil aura, spreads its power beyond, the now yes, open underground and is capable of generating real dragons and dragons of different elements that will travel to the surface and to the sky... some monsters excavate caves on the surface releasing the likelike and horroblin, breaking the calm by satoly... the temple of thunder emerges from the invisible thick earth and the visible fine sand, it generates a power around it allowing the gibdo to stop being fossilized and emerge from below the surrounding sand if not there are hives... Days later Link wakes up on some islands in the sky)

There's only one problem. You created the paradox. The paradox didn't exist otherwise. If there's another Hyrule Warriors, it wouldn't relate at all to what you're insinuating. 1) First, the events of the future would be required to occur for Zelda to go back to time. 2) If the events of the future do not occur, and Zelda does not go back in time, at this point where it's decided a "Timeline" split would occur -- This is the whole "Schrödinger's cat" situation. This assumed sequel to Hyrule Warriors would exist in an entire alternate timeline, much as they already do now. 3) In order for your entirely irrational theory to exist (you should learn more about space time), Age of Calamity would be the Prequel to Tears of The Kingdom, not Breath of The Wild (Which doesn't exist in this Universe). 4) You essentially took fixed points in a timeline, and assumed they all would exist, despite the fixed points generating entirely new timelines. But good try. I stuck around till the end at least.

what if Hyrule Warriors Zelda goes back in time but instead of going to the time of Rauru & Sonia, she’s the Zelda who helped defeat calamity Gannon 10,000 years in the past with the ancient hero??? because since Hyrule Warriors Zelda and tears of the kingdom Zelda share the same distant past. If they both time traveled back to the time of Rauru and Sonia there would be two Zelda’s there. if Hyrule warriors Zelda time travels to the time of the calamity 10,000 years in the past, that would still be a canon event to both timelines since it is shared. there may be secrets in the tears of the kingdom timeline they never knew to look for but link from the Hyrule Warriors timeline may know what to look for in terms of clues left behind from Zelda, who traveled to the great calamity 10k years ago and she found a way to defeat Ganon in her Hyrule warriors future.

Being involved in the story means nothing canonically. Just means they probably gave them a notebook with drawings and story notes. Maybe coding for their models so they didnt have to start from scratch. Aoc is so easily noncanon. Teriko went into the past and link doesnt have the mastersword. The the present he cane from, Link got the mastersword at a very young age and known as the choosen hero long before when teriko would have arrived. Its just a fun zelda themed hack n slash game. Just like hyrule warrior 1

I care not for the term "canon" when multiple timelines exist. Mostly bc it's Canon in it's own timeline. I understand why people use it to delineate from alternate timelines, but I have the same beef with dragon Ball and all it's "non-canon" stuff. The multiverse IS canon in both of these series.

None of the Hyrule Warriors are canon and will never be canon, making a new one showing Ganondorf and the imprisoning war is an awful idea the story is already bad as it is please don't try to make it worse,let Nintendo get over it and make a new game.

@@josevel27 Please if you don't know what you're talking about don't comment you're embarassing yourself I'm not the one who said it's not canon NINTENDO ITSELF said it, the devs that made the game said thousands of times it's not canon and will never be and you would know that if you were really a follower of Zelda games and news. Try doing some research before embarassing yourself please. Just because some content creator ''feel like'' it's canon it doesn't mean it is.
