As a fellow student who majors in physics, the explanation is just crystal clear and frankly i understood it way better than any textbook explanation. Thank you very much 👍, and good luck in your future endeavours 🎉

you are so very right when you say that people just omit a lot of stuff while explaining this, and i dont understand why. it would take some time for professors and books to explain it like you did, but it would save us a lot more time

The best one ever, I'm taking QM course along with special functions and hardly could find someone clarify the ambiguity of the last step. It brings some shame, it was totally infront of me! I'm so thankful anyway

So damn helpful thank you! I was working through series solutions for differential equations in Mathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering but Griffith's attack on these was still confusing. Great work!

I'm glad my video was useful! Yes, Griffith's doesn't go into enough details, which is why I decided to start this channel :D

Really awesome videoooo but you don't need to start at j = 1 or j = 2. 25:00 The j inside takes care of it. It will go zero when j = 0 or j = 1 when (j-1) becomes zero.

12:20.....after integration ,we will get d(psi)/dE ={E^3/3} *(psi). how....... d(psi)/dE = E*psi came??????
@NickHeumannUniversity
@NickHeumannUniversity 2 жыл бұрын
You are doing the integral wrong. You have to do separation of variables first! before you can integrate

@@griffithfimeto3387 Oh, those are the conditions derived from the reccurence relations. I recommend that you write the relation out and analyze it carefully. At around 37:30 I explain it a bit more. Your sum needs to end, so we found a condition for the maximum j for each n
@griffithfimeto3387
@griffithfimeto3387 2 жыл бұрын
Ok I'll tell what i understood , j is less or equal n , when i took n is even number all odd n and j zero and opposite true for n odd of all n and j even are zero , if i took n = 6 then j =0 ,2,4 ,6 survive and rest are zero so if i took n 7 then j = 1,3 ,5,7 surrvie and all zero , i hope i got right
