the Japanese karakuri are usually made to store valuable items in the hidden compartments that's why the puzzles are on the easier side and it looks nice cuz people also use it as decoration

Remember what I said before, regarding those expensive Japanese puzzles - For the "Rare Japanese Bear Puzzle", I noted - "The simplicity of this expensive puzzle is probably due to the differences in Japanese logic and cultural mores. After having lived in Japan for over 2 years, I can guess that the puzzle maker has designed this puzzle to be more of a decoration than an actual, say, level 10 frustrating experience. For the Japanese, selling an item for a high price and making it impossible for ALL the purchasers to solve it would create a "lack of face" scenario for both the puzzle maker and the buyer."
