I am Ethiopian but I am with Somalia on this one. Firstly, we should respect international law. As far as I know Somali-land is not recognized as a country. That makes the deal unacceptable. second What benefit Ethiopia gains by interning in to an agreement that will lead to a greater disagreement that may lead to war? Even if Ethiopia start using the port there will be attacks on cargo which obviously not good for business. We need access to port but this is not the way. My hope is that what ever problem or difference there is between Somalian people resolved and then enter to an agreement that benefit people for all the parties involved. For Ethiopians before coming after me, think about it this way; are you okay if another country directly deals with a region like Afar, or Tigray or Amhara? bypassing the federal government. Peace

If you look at history you'll learn the following; - Somaliland had its own kingdom separate from other kingdoms in what is today Somalia - Two different countries colonised those kingdoms ( Britain&Italy) - British Somaliland helped today's Somalia get rid of Italy due to them getting independence earlier - Somaliland came up with the idea of uniting although they were separate kingdoms and colonies since their inception - 1st democratic president was assassinated by a tribalist communist dictator who took all rights away from British Somaliland civilians - The union lasted 30 years ( 10years of genocide against Somaliland 300,000+ deaths) - After the civil war, Somaliland established its government and it has been 33 years since. - Somalia today has 5 different president's, the government only controls the capital - Somaliland is united ( Tribalist from dictators family have tried to destabilise Somaliland internally, currently those same tribe loyalist are fighting each other now) - Somaliland is free now from tribalist dictators, due to the obsessive tribal loyalty many current day Somali's are taught to be genocide deniers by tribe elders, this causes more hate then resolving it. - Somalia's obsession has caused Somalia to become stagnant, terrorism is daily, pirates are galore, government assassinations normal, 70% is international aid, no progression on its sea coast which is 10x bigger then Somaliland's, no progress on its gas/oil but spend millions of tax payers money to try and block Somaliland from using theirs. - Al jazeera owned by Qatar has many key business deals with Somalia and doesn't like Somaliland due to Somaliland refusing qatar airways its airspace during the arab blockade - Qatar is a known sponsor of terrorism of alshabab Somalia need to move on, the world is moving on, the civilians of Somaliland don't want you, they have their own government/finance/school/international schools/port/flag/media, everything.
