What is Postcolonialism:
Since I claim to be a postcolonialism scholar, I think it is apt to include a brief description of my field of study. In my view, Postcolonialism ( also written as Post Colonialism or Post-Colonialism) is a dynamic field of literary study that focuses on the history of colonialism and native responses to the colonial policies and life after colonialism formally ends. The field of postcolonialism also offers insights into the literature and culture of the the former European colonies and their struggles after the end of colonialism.

I am not sure if it’s a natural progression but since it plays with so many modernist tropes, one could say that it needs modernism as a necessary precondition.

Thank you Dr.Masood ,this was very helpful. what i understand is that the emergence of postmodernism is important to satisfiy different voices and opinions, in the other hand, modernism believe in reason and science, the nuclear bombs that caused massive genocide confirm that science when wrongly employed could be extremely destructive ,therefore there is a need for multiple perspectives , can you please give me feedback about this conclusion ,am i in the right path?

You could say metafiction is all parts that are not part of the fictional narrative and self reflexivity is specific references to the fictionality of the work itself. I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between a given historiographic metafiction and a historical fiction. I understand that simply metafiction is thrown into the mix to get historiographical metafiction but I'm afraid I haven't read or don't remember reading such a thing because I can't quite put my finger on it. Can someone give an example from a book? I just can't take a novelist in a novel and connect it with historical fiction, but I can understand how in a historical fiction there can be sentences such as "let's see what our heroes are doing at Mesopotamia" for example.
