here's the thing with the remembering thing, memory is super unreliable, they've done tests where people remember committing a crime that never happened. give the right stimuli under the right circumstances(such as a seemingly random name in a game where you are trying to give secret clues. as a random example) and the brain will make memories to make sense of it
