I don’t speak Finnish, but I’ve seen a video of him performing in Finnish, and he is totally different. His English persona is fairly mild mannered and somewhat innocent and reserved. His Finnish persona is more energetic and confident. I’m impressed that he was able to make the transition.
@timomastosalo
@timomastosalo 4 жыл бұрын
I think the natural part of it is, he is fully aware he's not perfect in English, and subconsciously more on his toes - so he takes it more mildly and humbly, somewhat bewildered. In Finnish it's just without such possible pitfalls - in English he could easily come over some blind spot he's not familiar with. He did describe in some interview, even in English, that he has to check his material with some genuine, native Anglophones before staging.

florenna It’s just plain. I was born and raised here in America, and it’s really stupid. Our minimum wage laws specifically exclude wait staff, so if we don’t tip them, their employer would have to pay them minimum wage. I’d rather just be charged the right amount to pay the people doing the service.

When I travel to warm countries like Greece or Spain I tip waitresses IF the bill is normal price,not too big compared to what I got for it. In my own country in Scandinavia I never give tips,never ever. I only do it when I'm a guest in another country. In Israel I never give tips,why? because in every restaurant or cafeteria the waitresses tells me "tips is not included" when they handle me the bill!! How rude; its like they force and beg me to pay tips. And tips is supposed to be something you give IF you want to. Not something that the waitresses BEG for!!! So they never ever get it from me when I travel in Israel.

@@mrsTraveller64 No offense but not tipping in many places will get you nasty things in your food. Watch the 2005 American movie "Waiting". May have you rethink your tipping habits. And believe me if you think this doesn't happen you are kidding yourself. Most wait staff are paid horrible wages. It's like being a mom serving dinner to like 20-30 people for 8-12 hrs. It's a nightmare. No I have never been a food server but i am a mom of grown kids from a huge family. The oldest and helped my mom most of the time. Waiters deserve to be treated better.
