Your accent is the best! I love learning about Scotland in such an authentic way, and learning a Scots word here and there is great, too. I hate to think that teachers are teaching that these rare dialects are "wrong." They're beautiful and unique, and worth preserving.
@ragnkja2 жыл бұрын
Teaching kids to write standard English is fine, but they should retain their dialect in speech. A person's dialect (and everyone has one, even if it's not always as easy to place as Cammy's) is an important part of their identity, and their "roots".
@DandelionDogged2 жыл бұрын
@@ragnkja You're right! It's also worth noting that dialects are just variations of a language that follow different linguistic rules than the "default" version of the language. As in, *they have rules.* That they follow. They are not breaking the rules, they are just following a different set. I think this is a truth missed by those who decry dialectic speech as "wrong."

Hey Cammy, I'm from Australia and have been watching you since the day Sandi Brock shouted you out, and I have loved every second of it! I don't have trouble with the Scottish accent because my family is Scottish on my mum's side, though of course none of my were nearly as thick as some of them I have heard on your channel lol. I do however have some trouble with other accents, and the trick to getting to understand them is honestly just keeping listening to them. Like anything, the more you do it the better you get at it, so if you love Cammy and the journey he is taking us along on, stick with him! A little time and patience and you will start to really understand the accents well.

The thing is Cammie, I saw the comments and while I thought it was a tad rude personally, I also noticed your accent and didn't have any problem understanding you what so ever. People need to realize you are who you are, and you are not obligated to change who you are for them. EVER. That's called entitlement, and people really need to get the hell over themselves. If you watch the channel regularly, the accent becomes much easier to follow. Besides, opinions are like bums holes, and we've got too many of those already! No need to announce your departure from a channel because you can't follow along because honestly, you're not that important in the grand scheme of things. I appreciate you being mindful of the accent because you've done a wonderful job, but please don't let a few negative people change who you are. I think Cammy tried adding captions at one point but it adds a lot to the editing process and when everyone is running around like headless chickens trying to keep on top of all the things happening with lambing I honestly don't think Cammy has time.

Honestly they are freaking hilarious!! Adds a whole extra level of Craic to Cammys natural humour. All in all there’s fun to be had all round. Im an Aussie too and I think we do see many tourists and we are travellers ourselves so we’ve used to different accents/ languages. I have noticed the Scottish blokes are a little harder to understand at first but it gets much easier if you listen. And Cammy does work hard to make it easier for those that struggle a bit. Jock is so cute and growing fast, as they do. Lizzie is shy, but very pleasant. You have a lovely family. I love watching your channel and I do seem to understand what you are saying, maybe because I watch a couple more vlogs from Scotland. It’s a beautiful country and I really like watching the fields and countryside. It’s very much country here in Vermont as well. That poor mom who gets upside down every day. Hope she delivers soon for her and babies sake.❤️💞

So happy for you!! I wish I had been able to show my dad your videos. He had a deep love of Scotland and he would’ve loved to see the countryside and hear your beautiful accent. Blessings on you and your family - human and sheep!

I can understand you enough to enjoy your vlogs!!! I know nothing about farming, animals in general, except dogs and cats, but have learned so much from you and Sandy Brock!!! Love the difference in your farming methods!!

Hey Cammie… as long as you speak your truth it matters not how the words come out, it is real life, no apologies for the type of communication! for you are great at it. Your reporting skills 📺 are awesome 😎👏 from your past vlogs 😂. Your influence touches so many…your nephew is a prime example of the best kind of compliment. You and your “Team” are all awesome. Thank you for all you do!

Well done Cammy!! it is a sad state of affairs when you have to rely on others to keep your sheep business going, but you are doing a grand job. I see you are on various media now and getting a (good) name for yourself. Go you. I TOTALLY support ALL farmers in what they do.

I love your accent and the Scottish "slang" as you call it. I'm in America and originally from south Louisiana. Sometimes my Cajun accent comes out when I'm tired or angry. People giggle then. Just keep doing you and providing this awesome content. Congratulations on 50K. Much love to you and all your family. Love that Wilson has found a role model he can look up to and grow up emulating. Thank you, Cammie for sharing your world with all of us "Sheep Fans".

From Australia. Grew up on a farm. We raised fat lambs. Cross-bred ewes (Border Leister x Merino) put to Dorset Ram. Very hilly country but the ewes lamb well. One of out every morning on the motorbike after the fog rises checking for ewes who are cast (cant get up) and pulling lambs when a ewes in difficulty lambing. Bringing home orphans and warming them up in the bottom compartment of the wood stove wrapped in a blanket. Watching your videos so much is common to what we do and then surprised by what is different. But what is always the same is the snuffling sound of the ewes with their lambs and the bleating of the lambies.

I used to struggle to understand your English, but over time I have come to understand most of the words you say. I have even learned a bit of the slang words! I love your channel and I appreciate your hard work and dedication. When you left your police job and went full time into sheep farming... I knew I wanted to support you (and your growing family). That is why I am a Patreon supporter.
