I vaguely remember her from some years back. At the time I probably didn't think I could relate to her. No, she's relatable no matter who you are. Her pauses to let the full weight of the jokes sink in are exquisite. Her voice makes her accent doubly charming. She has a Southern with which isn't as dry as say British humor, but still requires a goodly amount of mental flexibility to appreciate. May I say too, quite a handsome woman on top of that. She has that real beauty.

I know, you can tell a fake southern accent from miles away.
@BeardedBarley1 Жыл бұрын
Totally. My daddy and my grandma were from Chattanooga but made it over to Oregon where I was born, raised, and bred. Growing up, I didn’t even notice my dad had an accent though my friends and husband and children did. I guess I was just used to it. But my grandma, she had a very thick accent I think maybe even a bit more than Leanne. I am not kidding when I say that my grandma had a very unique southern way about her. In fact, she greeted my to-be husband (who was from very citified L.A.) the first time she met him when she opened her door by hilariously saying, “You’ll have to excuse me for not comin’ to the door sooner, but my butthole is saggin’ today.” She meant she’d had a hard time getting off the toilet because of hemorrhoids. She was a kick in the pants. But to my fiancé, hahahaha, he had no idea what just hit him. All I could do was heartily laugh. WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, HONEY! As a result, being raised around authentic southern people often helps me to spot a fake in hollyweird. What gives the pretenders away is when they glide over their Rs instead of really drilling them in and over-pronouncing them. Then they don’t put enough syllables in words. For example, ‘down’ is a one-syllable word to northerners. But it is a two-syllable word to southerners, ‘dow-uhn.’ So, yeah, it gets a little annoying to listen to people acting as though they have a southern accent when they don’t. I agree they definitely do need help if they want to be convincing at all, and Leanne would be just the person to do it.
@deel26214 ай бұрын
It seems only Southerners can detect the differences in the dialects. Moving around the region we sound very different. Leeann couldn't pass as someone from Georgia,Louisiana or Eastern Carolina. Leeann's accent is very Tennessee.
@bmphil34004 ай бұрын

I don’t know what to say about some of the Southern Bible Belt comments 🤔. My first serious boyfriend was from Tennessee. His father left, then his mother dropped him off at a family friend’s house when he was seven, and he didn’t see her again until he was eighteen. That’s when I met him. At first he was real nice with the Southern charm and all that. Then the real character came out. He was jealous, mean, and physically abusive. Of course this side didn’t come out until after the Southern charm stuff made me fall hard for him. Oh, his mother wanted him to still call her mom after what she did. And when he didn’t she was mean. Thank God I left him, but not before wasting 5 years of my youth on him. But important lessons were learned.
@carolinebcollier Жыл бұрын
I suppose it really goes without saying that there are bad folks everywhere. Even (arguably *especially) in the Bible Belt.
@rainbomg Жыл бұрын
Hurt people hurt people :( Abusers typically wait until there’s some level of added security in the relationship to escalate. That’s why you’ll notice that the worst “firsts” usually happen right after you’ve increased the commitment and would have a harder time leaving. For example, right after my ex and I said “I love you” for the first time was when he said the first mean thing to me that he had ever said to me. After we got engaged I got my first black eye. I’m from the same place Leann lives. With the repressed nature of the religiosity down here comes a lot of ills, many of which fall on the lives of young women and girls. We aren’t taught how to protect ourselves and it’s assumed that even needing or wanting protection is for whores- your body is a gift that you are preserving for a man, it’s not yours. Then of course, inevitably girls give the men the thing we spend our whole lives being told is for them (not us) and you become a young mother with a cruel husband and you have no options, no support, no clue what to do. We typically aren’t taught how to take care of ourselves and we are expected to give up our autonomy the second we finally get it, it’s sad and it creates a lot of generational trauma. The south could do with a lot less churches and a lot more group therapy. The Bible teaches that women are possessions and that they are the cause of original sin. That they should submit to men and not ask questions, that men are the head of the household and we should love our husbands the way mankind loves god, and husbands should love their wives the way god loves mankind. Well, one side gets to make all the rules and sets the other side on fire when it gets mad. One side is expected to work full time and take care of the house full time and raise the kids full time and if we are good little girls and sacrifice our own needs enough we might just end up lucky enough to not be cheated on when we’re pregnant or murdered bc we are too tired to be entertaining. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck that Anyways sorry about the ramblin’ it’s pretty messed up down here. Your ex likely had NPD or BPD. I hope you’ve moved on to healthier, happier loves.
