Okay so I have no clue what’s happening but I redownloaded my game multiple times and each time it doesn’t even HAVE a mod folder with it. So I don’t even know how I would try to regenerate one when my game never downloaded with one in the first place. Please help !!!

@Darielle i have my mccmd center and it shows up on the list in the game but when i go to click on my sim toon it doesn't show up so i don't know how to get it to pop up like i've asked my mom's daughter to help which she did tried to delete it and to re download it to put in the mod folder but it still doesn't show up when i click on my sim toon 😕 and the thing is i used it yesterday perfectly fine to revive people that turn into ghosts even the pets aswell and i like makin them to be young again but i was wondering if you could help me please? 🙏

Despite you saying it was the easiest issue to fix. I have been trying for hours to get a single mod working on my sims, absolutely nothing is working. Ive gone over everything: The file types (My mods are all packages and script files no Zips), the CC and script options in the settings (it has been saved properly), there's no sub folders only one mod in the mod folder for testing (its is up to date) restarting and starting again and again, making sure it's in the right mods folder (It is, there's no doubt about it) I tried downloading wicked whims and when I thought that might be too complex to deal with I got a simple eye colour package to test it, still nothing, I even tried to repair the game in Origins. I feel like i've exhausted every last option and i'm sick of playing vanilla, I use a mac btw.

Thank you THANK YOU! I had the "no mods showing" issue after last patch, and renaming my mods folder to OLD then starting and quitting S4 to let it create the new resource.cfg file fixed it! What a relief. :D

@@gracejansen527 @Grace Jansen heyy! did you rename the correct folder? the one included in your documents? the reason why it's not working might be the fact that you didn't have mods & cc turned on previously. so you can rename it back into 'mods', open your game, enable mods and cc, apply changes, exit your game & then rename it once again. Open your game & your new folder should pop up

Thank you so much! I had 2 mods folders and that was the issue. If anyone sees that they have 2 mod folders just drag the one that doesn’t work to the one that does, which will copy all the stuff you found on the un working folder to the working one. Then there you go, it should work! :) If you can’t tell which one works, at the search bar it should say “documents > electronic arts > the sims 4 > mods”.

At first my MC commander wouldn't show up in the actual game. It did however show up in my mods list right at the beginning of the game. I was going crazy trying to figure out what wasn't working. I removed ALL of my mods except the MC commander, it still wouldn't pop up in the game. Turns out I was inserting the MC COMMANDER in a subfolder, I put it directly in the created mods folder and it worked. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Does your Sims not launch at all? First things first, make sure to backup your whole entire EA folder (and don't Touch it, you'll just need it in case you ever experience game issues, but keep in mind that it'll only include the saves you've made up until this point). Have you tried taking out all of your mods? Then you can repair your game through Origin and see if it makes a difference for you. If that doesn't work, you'll have to follow the tips mentioned in here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6Gmd6mKmNaEpLM Definitely let me know if this helps!!

But one of them was broken and making my furniture not work so then I had to delete every mod, reorganize the folders and put them all back. I got it to work but lost a lot of files in the process. I have backups in case it happens again. Thanks for telling me about ANOTHER update. I hope WW and MCCC will work

Hi! Sorry for disturbing you but I have an issue. All my mods and cc was working fine and then one day when I was downloading some cc and I went into the game none of the cc I downloaded showed up. I only had the ones from before that. I was trying different cc one at a time to see if it was only an issue with the ones I downloaded but none of them showed up. Hello there! So one thing I'd try in your case is to reset the Mods folder. Here are the steps that you need to take: 1. Rename your Mods folder in Mods old (make sure you're renaming it with your game completely closed) 2. Open your game 3. Close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder will pop up 5. Put in this new Mods folder your new mods/cc first 6. Open your game and see if those show up both at startup and in your actual gameplay 7. If so, you can close your game and then copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to this new Mods folder as well If you still encounter the same issue after putting those old ones in, there might be some corrupt/problematic cc and you can try the Better Exceptions Mod that basically tells you what mods/cc need to be deleted from your Mods folder (I have a vid on this here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ_Gipt3dtl-ma8) Let me know if it helps! 🤗

Did you also make sure to: 1.unzip all of your cc (if those have a zip/rar extension) 2. put those into your main Mods folder (don't use subfolders) 3. check if you have the resource cfg file inside your Mods folder? You can also go into CAS and filter all your clothes by Content > Custom Content and see if those show up. Definitely let me know if you need further help!

Hi, I already knew everything you’ve said but I still watched through the end just in case if there’s something that I didn’t know, but there weren’t. I play The Sims 4’s Legacy Edition and ever since I had to play with the Legacy Edition most of the CC that I’ve downloaded simply does not show up in my game (even though they show up in the custom content list). My game is always up to date and I double-check the CC that I downloaded if they are too and I always downloaded after making sure yet most of the CC that I downloaded just doesn’t show up in my game. Could it be because I have to play with the Legacy Edition because I have tried everything yet nothing changed. Thanks in advance!

Do you happen to use an antivirus program? If so, please make sure it's not blocking your EA folder / your Sims game. You can avoid that by adding TS4 & your Electronic Arts to the allowed apps & exceptions sections You can add the same exception for your TS4 within your firewall Let me know if this works!

@@Darielle I tried this with big hopes but my antivirus program already didn’t block The Sims 4 and while I was at it I also scanned my Sims 4 folder just in case there is any virus related issues but there wasn’t anything. 😢

Are those cc new? If those are kinda old, there's a high chance that your cc are not compatible with the current version of your game. You can try to identify any potential conflicting/broken/incompatibile cc or mods by installing the Better exceptions mod. Unzip it, put those unzipped files into your Mods folder, open your game, run a compatibility test and a browser page should show up. There you should be able to see all the potential script mods & package files that are causing you game issues and, therefore, need to be deleted from your Mods folder! Lemme know if this works for you!

Can you please help meee. I downloaded wicked whims and it’s not showing in the game. But it is in the mods folder and it’s not in the any sub folders. The wicked whims show up in the list of mods that pops up at the beginning of the sims log in, but it just doesn’t show up when I play the game.

@@rreki7830 ok so I got it to work. What I did was put i make sure every single wicked whims file is deleted then I downloaded it back and extracted it before putting it in the mods folder. Make sure you get all the extracted files in the mods folder . Hope this helps 🤍

i am having a huge problem with mine, which has been ongoing for months - causing me to abandon the game because i just don’t know how to fix it. - my cc doesn’t show up at all, despite how many times i repair the game, and even uploading mods/cc to the game at 200 item intervals will not work, however i can see that it’s not one specific file, as if i do it in 300 item intervals or 700 intervals, it will break at different points with different mods, despite the same mods appearing in game and behaving perfectly fine (for example, it broke at 1600 mods earlier, but broke now with 800 mods, in alphabetical order - so therefore not being one specific file which is corrupted). all cc & mods settings are enabled, so it’s not that either. i also don’t use script mods, so none are outdated as such. - the part that’s beyond me, is that when my mods file doesn’t show up, the option to “load save” doesn’t show up either and the game will only allow me to start a new save. - i truly really don’t know what to do with it, if you can help in any way at all i would hugely appreciate it ! thank you 💗

@@Darielle i’ll try this ! thank you so much :) i’m pretty sure that’s where my saves are too, however i have copies of my saves in a saved onto my desktop (outside of the game files) so i’m unsure if that could be affecting it ? however the issue with those lies in the fact that they’ll appear with no mods in the game, however don’t appear when mods are in the game - however it may all be down to the broken mods folder i think 💗

A mods folder doesn't even appear in my sims 4 game, no matter what I do. I'm so confused. I've tried everything :c I can't get a single mod to work

Hello there! So in order for your Mods folder to show up, you need to: 1. Have your mods, cc and script mods allowed in the Game Options > Other > apply changes 2. Go into your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 (there should be a Mods folder) If it still does not show up, you can try to reset your EA folder this way: 1. Rename your Electronic Arts folder into Electronic Arts folder (with your game completely closed & don't delete it!!) 2. Open your game 3. Close your game straightaway 4. A new EA folder should pop up 5. Go into your old EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > select all files + copy 6. Go into your new EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > paste your files The same thing needs to be done with your Tray and Screenshots files (go back into your EA old and copy your Tray files and then paste those into your new Tray folder and so on) 7. As for your mods & cc, please try not to copy any of your old SCRIPT mods. Try to redownload those and then install them into your new EA > The Sims 4 > Mods folder Most of your old cc should be fine, so you can copy those from your old Mods folder. Hi! I have an issue. I downloaded new cc last night and it shows up when I first load up the game. But once I enter CAS or build mode, no new cc shows up. All my old cc works just fine. I don't know what to do. I even reset my sims 4 folder and my mods folder but that didn't work either. All my new cc are package files and they are all in my mods folder correctly. All my new cc is newly uploaded cc from TSR as well. I'm not really sure what to do. My old cc works just fine but my new cc does not! Can you give me any advice?

Hello there! Did you make sure to put your cc & mods files in the right folder? That should be Documents/EA/The Sims 4/Mods (so make sure not to copy those into a completely different folder, there's only one Mods folder tied to the game). Does your Mods folder have that resource.cfg file? If it doesn't include that file, your mods/cc might not show up. If your mods/cc have a zip/rar extension, you should unzip those first and then place those unzipped files in your main Mods folder (don't use subfolders). Make sure to properly enable mods, Script Mods and cc within your game options & apply changes. Do you also use an antivirus? If so, make sure it's not blocking your Sims 4 app (to avoid that, please go to the allowed apps & Exclusions sections and add your TS4 folder as well as your TS4 app in there!) After following all these steps, you should be able to see all of your mods & cc in game, as well as in CAS (you can also go in CAS > click on that little arrow > filter by custom content and see if your cc show up!) Did you also unzip them before putting them into your Mods folder? (if you're on Windows, you need to use a file extractor program such as Winrar/7 zip or if you're on Mac just double click your downloaded file and place those files that show up inside of that file if that makes sense!) Aaand you should also place those files inside your main Mods folder (not into subfolders that you've created yourself beforehand) 😊

hoping somebody reads this comment and tells me at leats where the problem comes from: ______________________________________ i play the sims 4 from a hard disk because of low space on my laptop, i'm specifically struggling with the 'resource.cfg' thing; i first of all had to create by my own the folder 'Mods', because when i had the game installed the mods folder just didn't exsist (or i accidentally deleted it, can't recall). _______________________________________ even if i start the game though, inside the mods folder the 'resource.cfg' simply wouldn't generate; i tried to rename the the 'Mods' folder into 'Mods old' as explained; but still nothing appears (like the new folder 'Mods' with its resource doc.) after i restarted the game again of course. nothing seems to ""regerate"" since it's a games automatic thing, why's that? *(i managed to put into game cc mods, without much problems in the past; then i somehow lost my mods (automatic\original) folder plus its resource.cfg document; and here i am struggling).

If you can't seem to generate a new Mods folder, you can then rename your Electronic Arts folder (the one located in your Documents folder!! That's the only folder that's recognized by the game) into Electronic Arts old (with your game closed). Do not delete the EA old folder as you'll need to put back your files from this one to the new one that we are about to generate. Now open your game and close it straightaway. Open your Documents folder once again and there should be a brand new EA folder. We'll need to copy your Saves files from your EA old/TS4/Saves folder and paste those into your new EA/TS4/Saves folder. The same thing should be done regarding your Tray, Screenshots and Mods files. Renaming your EA folder into EA old will result in getting a brand new Mods folder that has the resource.cfg file inside. So here you should be able to put all of your cc, let me know if it works!!

My cc shows up in the start up but when I get into the game some of my cc doesn’t show up. Skin for my toddlers+ children showers up, some hair showed up, some face details showed up, but skin details and makeup won’t show up. I’ve remade my folders, mods is turned on, I’ve made an exception in my anti-virus for the mods, I’ve uninstalled sims, I’ve signed out of origin, I’ve done literally all I can think of and it still won’t work. :(

It's always best to get rid of all mods whenever a patch comes out. So please make sure you reset your Mods folder by renaming it into Mods old (you should also have your mods & cc enabled in your game before doing this & have your game completely closed). Open your game & close it straightaway. A new Mods folder should pop up. Please only copy the cc included within the Mods old folder and as for your mods, make sure you download the latest version for those & reinstall them into your new Mods folder. Fingers crossed it works 🤗

Hi there! Sorry to hear that, you can also try to reset your EA folder, this will def help. With all due respect, some of what you said is not true. I've been downloading mods (scripts) and CC for the Sims 4 for a few years now and I have always kept my script mods in 1 subfolder without any issues. Many times I've received mod files that didn't come in a folder and I created a folder for them myself and they still work in-game. Now, I'm not an expert but I do understand the Resource.cfg file needs the correct information in it in order for mods to be read properly by the game. Some people do not like the idea of just dumping the files into the mods folder because it can become "very messy" and for those who prefer things to be more organized, it is possible. Anyways, I still think you gave great advice and in the past, I've seen comments from people who've stated that they cannot get mods to show up unless all files are directly in the mods folder and no subfolder. If anyone has a similar issue then its great to follow this video but it is possible to learn how to use subfolders as well if anyone is interested. I learned just from google searching and reading other people's guides.

There are a couple of things we can check in order to make those mods show up. Did we: - unzip the files that end with zip/rar or that are archive files? - place the mods & cc in the MAIN mods folder & not into a subfolder that we created ourselves (aka a folder for clothes, accessories and so on inside the mods folder) - delete all ts4script files after update (those are mods that are most certainly broken after update & install the updates -ONLY if there are any!) - clear our game’s cache (aka temporary files piled up with broken mods) = deleting the files localthumbcache, gameversion & options from the sims 4 folder

Hey Zachary!! Hope we figure this out! Can we try to see if: 1. We've placed the cc into the right folder (aka Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder)? 2. We've unzipped the cc before placing it into the Mods folder (only if those traits are an archive file aka end with zip/rar)? 3. We have the resource.cfg file inside the mods folder? 4. We've enabled mods & cc in the game (in game options > other) beforehand, apply changes and relaunched the game 5. We've put those cc into the main Mods folder, not into a subfolder (if they are into a subfolder aka Mods > folder > cc traits, then we can copy those from that subfolder & paste them into the main Mods folder) If none of the above work for us (although fingers crossed sth works 🙏), then we can try to reset the mods folder, this is what i do after updates and it fixed almost any mod issue i had! I'll write down the steps for you here ✨️ 1. Let's allow mods&cc in the game options & apply changes (if those do not save, i have a tutorial on how you can fix options not saving here kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5uzZWywicxqfK8 > close your game 2. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (but keep the Mods old folder, we will use it later on) 3. Remove the following files from your Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this will get rid of any mod temporary files, it's very similar to clearing cache from your apps!) 3. Open game & close it rightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up in the Sims 4 folder 5. Copy all of your custom content (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods 📂 6. Download the updated versions for your script mods (if there are any! If there aren't please wait until that creator posts an updated version🙏) 7. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

Esentially, you need to make sure: 1. That your mods folder has the resource.cfg file included 2. That you've properly turned on cc, mods and script mods & applied changes 3. That you've deleted and updated any outdated/broken mods 4. That your antivirus is not blocking your game/Electronic Arts folder (you can avoid that by adding your TS4 & EA folder to the exceptions list & by removing your TS4 app from your blocked apps within your antivirus - if you're using one!) You can also go in CAS and filter by cc and see if those show up! Let me know if you need further advice!

@@I2.03.06 i made two separate mod folders one for scipt and one for CC :)

i have wicked whims in my game and it worked perfectly but the other day when i played sims again and i clicked on the floor for example than the wicked icon doesn't show up anymore.does that happen to anyone?and my healthcare mod doesn't show on the sim's phone when i want them to go to the doctor.all my script mods shows in the game too.

Hi there!! If you did update your game, did you also remove our WW mod that you currently have in your Mods folder, download & place the updated version in there? If that does not seem to be working for you, you can also try to reset your Mods folder, I'll lay out the steps so it's easier for you to follow! 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder Sending lots of good thoughts your way! 🤗
