This is VERY interesting. I was always taught ( and still believe) that the earth was 12 thousand years old. It took the Lord 6 thousand years to create and the last day rest. The earth existed and was without form and void before God created light. Then He created in six days with Adam created on the sixth and rested the seventh. One implication though, if we take this view would be that the cycle of death existed before Adam sinned and according to Romans 5:12-21 & Romans 8:20-21 Paul wrote that death entered the world due to man’s sin and that the whole creation is affected by it. If God called “good” what He created in Genesis 1:4,21,25 and death was already present without sin, that would imply that God approved the cycle of death before Adamic sin. But it is clear from Scripture that is not the case, and that God wants to bring an end to death and view death as a figurative enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26). God’s redemptive plan to save mankind (1 Cor 15:1-4; John 3:16-21) also includes bringing an end to suffering and death in the new creation (Rev 20:14; 21:4). Personally, I believe that a young earth can also fit the narrative where dinosaurs died in the flood (become fossilized in the severe pressure in sediment and water pressure). Scriptures also support that dinosaurs indeed lived in the time before the flood, seen by Noah and recorded (Job 40:15-24;41:1-10; Ps 148:7; Jer 51:34).

The KJV has it as "replenish" and my understanding is the word "replenish" implies for something to be refilled. And the google dictionary says replenish means: "fill (something) up again." eg. Revelation 21:1 are are told that the heavens and earth we have now are the FIRST heavens and the FIRST Earth. If it was a recreation 6000 years ago than it would be the SECOND, but it is not, it is the first, and it was all created 6000 years ago. Some time after the perfect Earth was created, it became a destroyed wasteland on the "surface". The entire planet was not destroyed, the destruction happened on the surface of the planet. Secondly they tried to suggest an alternative translation in Genesis 1:2, but their suggestion is based on speculative conjecture. Consider the following... Also note that in Job God describes a dinosaur (the Behemoth) and when He does, He states that it was created along with man... at the same time. What wiped out the dinosaurs? The flood did. They're not billions of years old and in fact, they were mentioned as recent as the 1700s when they would attack farmers animals (they were not as large after the flood due to a shorter lifespan). Before the 1800s they were called "dragons", after the 1800s they were called "dinosaurs". China used to breed "dragons" (dinosaurs), they had listed official dragon feeders etc. A lot of this comes from the fact that people have a hard time fitting dinosaurs into the Bible due to the idea that they are millions or billions of years old. People attack the people, but never question so called "science" or look into their horribly flawed dating methods which have been proven to not work. How do they date fossils? By the layer they were found in. How do they date the layers? By the fossils found in them. Circular reasoning.

Most geologists insist the sedimentary rock layers were deposited gradually over vast eons of time. In reality, it can only be dogmatically asserted that the fossil record is the record of the order in which animals and plants were buried and fossilized. Throughout the world’s rock layers there are billions of fossils, the remains of organisms that were catastrophically buried largely during the global Flood (2348 BC). Understandably the vast majority of these are marine creatures and they were buried quickly and sequentially by habitat. Also, it is beyond dispute among geologists that on every continent we find fossils of sea creatures in rock layers which today are high above sea level. There is only one possible explanation for this phenomenon-the ocean waters at some time in the past flooded over the continents. Fossilization typically occurs when organisms (either living or dead) are deposited from water into sediment. In some instances the sediment solidifies, making a cast of the entombed organism; in others, the organic material of the organism itself is replaced by mineral to form a stony replica. Conditions must be perfect for fossilization to occur, which perhaps explains why there is so little evidence of fossils being formed today. Both the burial of the organism and the hardening of the sediment must occur very quickly or the inevitable decay process will destroy the organism before it can become fossilized. Carbon dating has long been discredited as a means of dating things. Romans 5:12: "Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin." I do not agree with this. As a creationist I believe the Earth to be only 6000 years old. Ask yourself: Why would the world NEED to be any older? Because secular scientists says so? Do they know better than God? If it would pass billions of years before the creation week, why wouldn't God have told us about that? The Bible indicates no such thing. Putting in billions of years is just reinterpreting the word of God from the teachings of atheists. Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 is not meant as a way to avade the dates given but to inform that God transcends time and space like pointed out earlier in the video. It is not like the Bible was not clear about the days of the creation week being litteral either: Each one is described with evening, morning, number, day. Does this look like symbolism to you? Or are you just putting man's word of millions of years above God's word? I couldn't find where, but I'm preatty sure the Bible states in a later book that God made man in the beginning. "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." - Genesis 1:31 God wouldn't call a world filled with death and suffering "very good", therefore Lucifer's rebellion and the thing that brought sin upon this Earth forever (Adam and Eve eating the apple) happened after which. If you wonder how I then explain the fossil record I have one answer: The Flood. Perfect conditions for fossilization. Burried in the right order too. Moreover secular dating methods are unreliable at best and at worst downright inacurate. I have heard an argument of 90 % of the results pointing to a young Earth and not an old one. Also compromising our faith with secular beliefs won't do us any favors either, as neither this timeline nor mine works with evolution. We should obey no other Gods but Him. This doctrine accurately explains the origin of Satans kingdom of fallen angels. A 6,000 year old (young) earth does not reconcile the fact that when the universe was created (Gen. 1:1), ALL of the holy angels (sons of God) rejoiced - Job 38:7. Some were not yet fallen. When the rebellion of angels took place later, the earth was already in existence and had been for quite some time - read the context clues of Jude 6, Isaiah 14:14. When Satan (Rev.12.9) is introduced in Genesis chapter three, he is already the adversary. This is a major weakness of the young earth theory, as there is clearly a pre-history of the earth that goes back way before Adam and Eve. Most people who defend the entirety of Genesis chapter 1 as the original creation account don’t realize that they are not defending traditional views, but Greek worldview adopted by heretics of the early Church. That God originally created all things out of tohu and bohu (primordial soup) comes straight out of Greek paganism. John Sailhamer a well known Greek scholar writes about this in one of his books and more or less defends the position that TW has of an old earth - and he knows the Hebrew, and history of biblical interpretation. Genesis 1:1 should be read as a complete statement and then move on from there. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 is not a description of the rest of the chapter. Put another way, the rest of Genesis 1 is not describing how God created the heavens and the earth, but is moving on to the next part of the story. Death entered the world through Adam. Before Adam defied God, there was no death in the world. I think you misunderstood the Isaiah 45:18 to Genesis. That verse could've just mean that God really didn't plan to make Earth in vain- that's why we are here today. The verse just tells us that He had already planned the earth to be inhabited. And in Genesis: The reason why the earth was void or wasted is that God was just starting to make the earth from scratch. He was just "starting". He didn't make the earth instantly beautiful, it has a process and the Genesis shows that well.

No, actually the fossil evidence is evidence of a global flood. You have layers on top of layers of sedimentary rock over a mile deep in some places of the world. Sedimentary rock is a kind of rock that was formed in water, like dirt/mud and sand mixed together in different amounts that hardens and turns into rock over a short amount of time but it erodes easily and quickly, and that is what formed all of the layers we see around the entire globe. If you have sedimentary rock that has no evidence of erosion or any kind of disturbance, then that right there shows that the layers aren't separated by millions of years. Millions of years of erosion would cause the layers to be so uneven and filled with evidence of long periods of time, but that is exactly the opposite of what we see in the grand canyon and other places all over the world because there is no evidence of time or erosion in between any of the layers. Fossils have to have very specific conditions to form. They have to be buried by watery sand/mud and minerals rapidly in a catastrophe to be preserved the way we find them in the layers today. So, if you have a global flood, you would expect to see exactly what we see today in the sedimentary rock layers that are filled with perfectly preserved fossils of animals, trees, fish, plants and people. Some fossils were buried and preserved so quickly that they have found fossils of a big fish with a smaller fish in its mouth and didn't even have time to swallow it before it was buried! They have fossils of animals and fish that were in the middle of giving birth! It is crazy how much evidence there really is for a global flood, but the secular scientists try to say there is no evidence of a global flood because it would ruin there theory because it would mean that something caused the global flood and also made a way for certain animals and people to survive (the ark.) The secular scientists have to try to explain the creation without a creator,(God), and they have to have billions of years to be able to have their science fiction theory of evolution. Without billions of years, evolution can't work. You just need to look up the video "is genesis history?" and the channel name is the same, "Is Genesis History" as well . I believe there is evidence. Anatomically modern humans go back about 350,000 years. However about 50,000 years ago you get spiritual life, complex burial of the dead, art etc... 'Clues to Creation in Genesis' by PJ Wiseman is a great book regarding the real meaning of Gen 1. It's out of print, but easily available. I think the genealogies from Adam are much longer, it's not uncommon for there to be gaps in chronologies. Gen 2:8 says God placed Adam in the garden (so there was an outside and possibly more history before Eden) Subsequently when they were thrown out of Eden, things had been going on: killing of animals, making simple clothes, fire, cooking, trampling of ground, hunting by anatomically modern humans without souls. I think this was 50,000 years ago. With these ideas one would have to go for a pre fall, fall. Some Young Earth Creationists his the roof at this suggestion. However, the 'serpent' was in the Garden - so there was something sinful even in the Garden and a sinful place outside the Garden where they were banished to. Interestingly if you look at the dinosaurs they appear fully formed in the fossil records and get bigger (Cope's Law) more and more ferocious (and evil) over millions of years.

Couple of things. No this video is not deceiving anyone. The author did not imply that there was 'no creation' in that week. The author simply said that it should be rightfully called 're-creation' week. So get that fact correct. עָשָׂ֨ה indeed means 'made' in Hebrew. However, I also have used this word when implying that I am 'restoring' something. When we make parts to restore an already existing car, we use the word עָשָׂ֨ה for that. 'Make' can mean to put parts together in order 'establish' something. How many times have you heard a Boss tell someone "I made you... I can also break you"? Are you implying that the Boss literally brought the other person into existence? Surely not, the Boss is implying that he established the subordinate. I'm not sure I agree with "For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday (a day)" for these reasons: 1. This is an example of a simile (like/as indicates this) and as such, should be taken as a figure of speech. 2. We are no longer in the 6th day, as this would contradict Hebrews 4: 3-5. God is at rest since he is saying these creations were completed. 3. Consider the context in 2Peter 3:8. Again, this is a figure of speech - not to be taken literally. Peter is sharing with the First Century Church members (the audience) about the fact that Jesus will return, albeit not when they believe is soon. He is illustrating that God is not on our 'clock,' as His time is different. Also, he is revealing to them that Jesus, despite him not returning quickly is not doing this out of laziness, but rather out of love because He wants ALL people to come unto repentance and accept Him before it is too late.

A pastor asked me if I thought God could create aged rock and fossils. I replied that I thought He had no need to do this as time is nothing to him and he could take as long as he wanted to create an Earth suitable for us just as a father builds a home for his family, That IMHO God knew we would need coal and oil and natural gas and every other natural resource. Makes perfect sense to me. If the Bible says that "one day to God is a thousand years for man" and science says that the Earth is 4.543 billion years old, then the calculation would be: 1 day for God is a thousand years to a human. 1 year (365 days) for God is 365,000 years to a human. So 4.543 billion years divided by 365,000 = 12,446 in God years. Puts it into perspective I think.

My real dillema though is not with the age of the Earth but how long humankind has been on the Earth. This is the real crux for me and I can only come to the conclusion that humans were created at least 20,000 to 25,000 years ago and not close to 6,000 like most Biblical scholars think. It just doesn't make sense and makes Christians look foolish, I mean just adding all these peoples births and deaths together from the Bible seems too simplistic.

I agree with this video in many ways but I think there is an important message to be gleaned if we see this planet as being made void by a cataclysmic event that rendered this planet, tidally locked (not rotating on its axis), but still full of the chemistry of life, but everything was dead. The reason this is important is because that cataclysmic event is going to return and, in fact, like a pregnant woman about to give birth, it is creeping up on us now. It is a rock, not made by hands, spoken of by Daniel in reference to Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Greetings; interesting points however those points would contradict scripture; it’s clearly written in the Bible that Adam named the created land animals; therefore if Dinosaurs were created millions of years or billions of years before Adam and some kind of global catastrophic event destroyed them... simply means Adam would’ve gotten a chance to name them. Also equally important is that the seven day creation is very symbolic or an example for us humans to keep the Sabbath holy or rest on that day; Yahweh is all powerful could have created everything in a millisecond if he wishes to ; but he used six literal days and one for rest as a teaching for us. Actually I don't take bits and pieces of the Bible to fit a narrative. Some parts of the Bible are poetry, some parts are fact or history if you will. Psalms for instance is poetry mostly from King David. Ecclesiastes and Proverbs were written by Solomon. I've read the Bible completely several times and I'm always learning new things from it. But I can tell you that Genesis lays the foundation for God's word for the other 65 chapters. Genesis 1:3-5 NKJV [3] Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. [5] God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:3 defines what a day is. There's no reading into it and no narrative. One thing I would never expound on is God's word. It says what it says. For a long time it was hard for me to fit the evolution theory in with the Bible. Bottom line is you can't, it doesn't fit. The earliest civilization as far as we can see is the Sumerians in 12,000 B.C.E. (Before Common Era). To give yourself a point of reference, the United States is only 246 years old. So, 12,000 years of humans existed before 0 C.E. (Common Era). Humans have been around far longer than the bible. And if Christ 'died' in 0 B.C.E. and we track our timeline to now, that's only 2,023 years.... A blink of an eye. The bible reflects the needs and desire for power over other, when none of us have the answers. It is a fraud, and the true sin and evil of humanity is religion.
