Disclaimer: I accidentally typed Touhou 3 instead of Touhou 4 on that final part, I already know of my mistake, just turn on annotations if you're on your computer so you can see that I at least tried to fix it. Rip mobile users.
Did You Know Gaming at least covered the fact that Undertale was indeed inspired by games such as Touhou for it's bullet hell like battle system but this find in one of the game's most intense tracks should surely not go unnoticed.

I didn't know Toby was a touhou fan, was boutta search if he was since in touhou. There is a "Grazing" mechanic where if the player hurtbox gets close to projectiles, the player gets extra points. In delta rune, there's also a grazing mechanic. That's pretty clever they used it in that way.

As someone who knows Sariel, after seeing a few pics of Asriel('s 2n phase, I think?), I can only spot a few similarities. - The name is obviously similar, but that's a stretch if alone. - Their main clothing part. Really, they both have some sort of long robe. - Similar colo(u)r scheme (well, Sariel's white and blue and I'm assuming Asriel's is supposed to be white and either purplish blue or blueish purple). (And that's probably because, well, Undertale's simple in nature and in such, its colo(u)r schemes can easily be compared to early Touhou games' simpler colo(u)r schemes, especially Touhou 1's)

A few things I've noticed: Tsunderplane's hat is the same as Yukari's hat. The intro to Your Best Nightmare sounds a lot like the intro to the full version of Flandre's theme, U.N. Owen Was Her. And, obviously, Undertale uses a kind of danmaku-like gameplay. Toby Fox himself likes Touhou, and he used a lot of references from Touhou and other fandoms for his game.

Haha, Undertale is practically a reference to a lot of things. The umbrella and the first weapon (Toy Knife) are references to the Umbrella and Knife effects of Yume Nikki. Also, the main character looks pretty much like Madotsuki, main character of Yume Nikki. The Act feat was inspired (or ripeed-off, dunno) from the original Phantasy Star, where you could talk with an enemy to avoid a fight if said enemy was intelligent enough or speaks your language, and there's a spell that gives you a better chance to do the same. The avoid-damage-in-battle style is based on vertical scrolling danmaku style, probably Touhou.

Avoiding damage in battle is how most battle systems work, yes. Undertale's is inspired by Touhou in particular though. Asriel's attacks are very clearly Master Spark, Earth Light Ray, and Stardust Reverie. I'm too lazy to list anything else.

Burn Angel The gun part in Your Best Nightmare being based on Bad Apple, and the frying pan part being based on Hartmann's Youkai Girl. But you knew that, it's in this video. Battle Against A True Hero is based on The Doll Maker of Bucuresti, from Perfect Cherry Blossom, and 1:14 of Dummy! sounds very similar to Love-Coloured Magic. Part of ASGORE is based on Septette for the Dead Princess, while another part sounds similar to Omiwa Legend (not the HM version, though. I don't even know what's going on with that). The IaMP version of Lunar Clock ~ Luna Dial also reminds me quite a lot of Death By Glamour.
