it seems like there’s always a significant percentage in every older generation that wants to think that the young people are all worthless. on the other hand, I also see some young people blaming the older generations for everything. The blame game is not productive or accurate at least not 100% accurate.

I'm so glad you are bringing this up about teens that have a work ethic and are driven. One problem we ran into with our teens is they wanted a job so bad and applied and applied but took a while to find a place to hire them. I agree that they feel proud when they can treat themselves, or even their siblings or parents, to something fun. My oldest is out of college at 16, just got hired at her first professional job, bought her own vehicle and a motorcycle, paid for her college, etc. She hates that people think everything is handed to her - and I can tell you it is not. She is setting a great example for her siblings and people around her.

Im glad you dont see any of that. I live in small town rural Iowa and all the things you dont see is what i see and is bad in this area!! I wish it was not like that, but it is.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Janet. This is the problem - too many people are being made to believe that the cities are horrible places and small town/rural America is where they need to go.

It's the generalizations that become traps. Every generalization has a seed of truth, but then get quoted as gospel to the point that they cease to be generalizations.

I live in a small rural town in GA. Our schools don’t teach CRT or any LGTQ things. I am 50 miles south of Atlanta and that is a whole different thing . My area is mostly conservative and the kids are mostly hardworking normal kids.

You havent experienced it. Well let me give you the gist. The big cities are where it's at. The cities like LA and nearby little cities are super exspensive. No longer affordable. Besides the neccessities being more, like gas, groceries etc... People end up living in apartments because housing is through the roof. For example, numbers on redfin in comparison Overland park, KS for 1,787 sq ft 3 bedroom house = $379,000 Similar size in Pasadena, Ca which is nice like a suburb and near Los Angeles, 1,743 sq ft 3 bed house $1,349,000. Plus we get triple taxed. The fortunate ones were able to sell their houses at the right time and left the state. I was not able. Lots of people work hard just to survive here.
@integrativepreparedness94272 ай бұрын
That's why it's important to choose where you live wisely. I don't live where I do by mistake. I live where I do so I DON'T experience what you describe. You need to take responsibility for your choices.

What’s going on with the rumors of Cali not being able to get insurance on mortgage due to every house being fire prone? Is it a thing?
@suzettealmanza30102 ай бұрын
@@integrativepreparedness9427 I grew up here. I was priced out of that area. Still in Ca but not near LA anymore. It spreads like a cancer. I watch your channel quite a bit. I only commented because you said you don't see the type of stuff that is out there on the Internet and I have. I agree with the idea of community engagement being important. When I was priced out 9 years ago, I got to know my neighbors and it does work. I encouraged neighbors to report crime e.g. random people shooting at each other and having to hit the deck. I let them know that nice areas are nice because they report crime and look out for each other. Now, it's quiet because we all did our part. I have also lived in areas where the cops don't show up. That is very real. Here, your phone is not a weapon and you still have to be ready for anything. Thanks for responding.

I have read all of James Wesley Rawles books, post apocalyptic fiction is my favorite genre. In most novels when faced with complete collapse some people immediately revert to crime, I think it would take longer. In one novel; I can't remember the title, it turned out that the collapse was only regional, so the people who broke laws were in trouble.

"Doom and gloom". I avoid that pessimistic attitude like the plague. Also, I do know teens that are pretty lazy and play video games all the time....their parents let them. Depends on the neighborhood I think. I don't spend much time thinking about it because it is a waste of time. ;-)😉
@integrativepreparedness94272 ай бұрын
Yep, it's all about the parents - and different neighborhoods have different kinds of parents.
