She is truly a multi-talented singer/stage performer/actress etc. Don't forget she won a Laurence Olivier Award as Best Actress in London, England and won a Tony Best Actress Award for her performance in Miss Saigon. This is from the musical Chess. A great Cold War/star-crossed lovers story and some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard in a Broadway play. It no longer runs and is hard to find videos of, but you can read the synopsis on Wikipedia. The music was so popular when the play debuted that some of the songs topped the billboard charts. You might end up recognizing some other songs.

I've just seen this today (I know I'm too late 😅) And was astounded with her rendition 💯. Watching this while peacefully having breakfast was a TERRIBLE idea, I ended up SOBBING instead 😂. I just put this in a Broadway review and had the leading man sing it- about the other leading man- it was beautiful and wove a secret to the show- which the audience was in on....made the leading lady's songs all that more tragic- cause we knew the he she loved was in love with the other he.....hot.

whoa. def my fave performance of this song so far. im auditioning for eponine from les mis in my theatre companys production of it this spring, and im using someone elses story as my audition song. its been hard to try to get down the right facial expressions when singing the song, but im gunna study off of this video and steal a bit of technique from salonga. she does it perfectly imo. :)

@annief31 actually in this version, Lea did have a bit of problem staying on pitch (that C#) and Liz was very much on pitch during her performance. Granted Lea my be a great broadway performer and actor, but she does have a bit of trouble staying on pitch during her singing...
