If you know what you're saying, you should be able to talk specifics: names, dates, counts, context. These progressives are taught generalities that they accept as _the unquestioned truth_ . If they cannot recount specific details that supposed to make up their general statements, it means they don't know what they're saying.

@@kaelan3 can you be specific in your criticism of knowles? what points don't make sense and why do they not make sense?
@kaelan35 жыл бұрын
rebullet00 Well firstly he argues that the natives didnt occupy all of the land here because there were natural barriers preventing them from living on every square mile? That doesn't make a shred of sense. And he asks him which people have a claim to which land, which is pointless and is intended to draw from the fact that there was genocide committed and that there was slavery forced upon the indigenous people. Yes the natives fought, as did Europeans. Does that entitle anyone to take their land and displace them from their homes whilst killing them mercilessly for resisting? He seeks to defend the displacement and murder of indigenous peoples who were largely peaceful, and not savages. They have language, history, and human rights just as Europeans do. I wouldn't even call Knowles arguments strawman because they don't stand to the test of basic critical thinking. I think that is clear to anyone watching.
@rebullet005 жыл бұрын
@@kaelan3 every single one of the native american tribes engaged in war. every single one. his point was that given that war was the case back then and that not every native american was part of the same tribe, then it literally impossible to give land back to the ones who had ancestral rights to it. the entirety of the human race stemmed from northern africa. does that mean that a white person has claim to that land? don't be ridiculous. war is part of the human condition, which includes conquering others. if a country were to give up its land to those who came before then this would cycle continuously until we were all fighting for a spot in africa. you bring up genocide like it has been established as fact, which it hasn't, im not so sure you know what genocide is. its about intention, not the act of killing itself, the same way terrorism is about intention and not the act itself.

lynn simpson Columbus predicted that the earth was smaller than people thought. People have known the earth was round since the ancient greeks, and even have calculated the circumference of the earth. But Columbus, despite thsoe calculations, predicted the earth was smaller. Ge was taking a bet that could cost him his life. But if he was right he would find an alternative route to India that would dramatically affect trade and change history. It was incredibly brave. It’s unfortunate how people ended up treating natives. A couple of myths first off: Columbus didn’t think the earth was flat, and he didn’t land on “American soil.” He landed on the Islands, and you can look up exactly where he explored throughout his voyages. Its called “west indies” because he first thought he was correct and landed in India as he predicted. But it turns out the earth was larger, there was just another continent that was lost during dark ages. There is evidence of past generations trading and landing on here but they didn’t keep much record and they were lost as they were separated off. This is an interesting fact. A roman coin was found in North America, theres even evidence of Chinese and vikings, and a good question is where the “first nations” came from? And like he said, you cant ignore that they fought and conquered each other. But theres also evidence of where many may have came from in the past. Another interesting thing is that there are first nations languages that match almost identical to Hebrews in speaking. And some have gone back to Israel and traced their roots back there. I could allude to the tower of babel and separation but people will probably argue with me there. It may nit be 100% the same but sings and words were and i’ll have to look up those things.

Yep. Stop voting to throw more money at the failed leftist school system in this country. Stop giving teachers raises (who are desperately trying to justify their existence despite their horrible results). And stop sending your kids to these indoctrination centers where they come out dumber than when they went in. Western "education" overall: “So the final conclusion would surely be that whereas other civilizations have been brought down by attacks of barbarians from without, ours had the unique distinction of training its own destroyers at its own educational institutions, and then providing them with facilities for propagating their destructive ideology far and wide, all at the public expense. Thus did Western Man decide to abolish himself, creating his own boredom out of his own affluence, his own vulnerability out of his own strength, his own impotence out of his own erotomania, himself blowing the trumpet that brought the walls of his own city tumbling down, and having convinced himself that he was too numerous, labored with pill and scalpel and syringe to make himself fewer. Until at last, having educated himself into imbecility, and polluted and drugged himself into stupefaction, he keeled over--a weary, battered old brontosaurus--and became extinct.” ― Malcolm Muggeridge

@jordanhendrix26195 жыл бұрын
yoda8802 first, you *have a PhD. It's a degree, not a title. Second, one can assume that you gained said degree before this issue became prominent, or maybe you attended a smaller school. It became much more prominent in the last ten and especially the last five years than it was before. It mirrored the dramatic increase in political polarity. Third, I was not saying that there aren't sane professors out there, merely that, as another comment put it, ""Professor" is a wildly loose title these days." I was saying that we tend to hold professors to high esteem and tend to believe them haphazardly, ignoring the fact that they are humans with just as much capacity for ignorance, misinformation, agenda driven actions and hasty jumps to conclusions. There is also the fact that you studied history, and the professors I am referring to tend to be focused in the liberal arts category, and many social studies that do not include history. I'd be worried if you were an SJW as a history teacher. Don't call on your own personal experience and generalize it to fit everyone. The reason I did not specify that I was not talking about all professors is that I assumed that anyone reading my comment would be able to understand that it isn't true of all professors. I generalized under the impression that most, if not all, readers would know it was a generalization, and thus not true of every person who holds the title "professor". Sorry for the confusion, I could've been more specific.

Partially the reason the overthrow of so many tribes by the US Government was so easy. There was a huge amount of infighting going on 24/7 and as a result they were already massively weakened. Literally the exact same situation the Spaniards capitalized on when they hit central America back in the 1400s. Lots of once-successful civilizations that had fought their way into being so weakened that they simply couldn't defend against the newcomers and they just got run over.

@Gerard Rietdijk "What's the biggie?" Since the Civil War, this land has seen no tribalistic warring, no widespread cannibalization, and no nation-like groups of people out "splitting heads". Unlike the regressive, viscous cultures that believed in evils like paganistic child sacrifice (and child cannibalization), scalping, slavery, rape, torture, and rule by power, the American culture brought freedom, equality, technological advancement, peace, mercy, and all in all made the world as a whole a much better place. Was there massive warring between the Indians and settlers? Sure, many of the Indians were not trusting of their newcomers and initiated fights, and some fearmongerers may have decided to strike before being struck. But most of the land was purchased rather than forcefully taken over from the previous owners. In the end, the winners were the ones who believed in peace and unity over tribalism and warring, and to compare the settlement to the bloody battles of these primitive tribes (the tribes, not the people) who didn't domesticate animals like horses or even use the wheel is outright dishonest and unimaginable.

A definite change has taken place in the stature of professors. The old-timey "tenured" professors hardly exist anymore, and are increasingly long-time hold-overs, waiting to retire with full pension & benefits. Upon retirement, these are increasingly replaced by "adjunct" professors, members of a non-employee talent pool that teaches classes "as needed" - and does so without benefits or retirement plans. Many are fine teachers, but they aren't employees & they are not treated as employees. And, yes, some of them are dummer Esels.

The only thing this man knows is that you, as a race, have the land and he wants you not to. He doesn't care who it goes to, just that it's not you. This is why he doesn't name the tribes. He doesn't care which one gets the land. He just wants white people off it because white guilt. The argument from these people isn't rational. It's not intended to be. It's built entirely on emotion, such as by calling Christopher Columbus a genocidal maniac. He never was any such thing. Modern researchers think he may have been a converso - a Jew forced to convert to Catholicism during the Inquisition. He was a merchant, looking for a quick buck. His men may have been bloodthirsty savages. Most of the conquistadores were veterans of the Reconquista and were used to war as a lifestyle. But that's an actual discussion of history. What this man believes is revisionist history through the Marxist lens.

You ask this question because you think in terms of principled behavior based upon individual responsibility and intellectual and logical consistency. The Good Professor, on the other hand, thinks in terms of the collective, where the blame is placed on a mythological Zinn-ified version of a capitalistic “America,” thus absolving themselves of responsibility, as they’re just as much a victim of “America’s” prosperity as the indigenous peoples “America” atrocitized - it’s a word now. The Good Prof., is nothing more than another, in a tiresomely long line of, hypocritical unprincipled illogical intellectually dishonest utilitarian Machiavellian Marxists who never have to face the consequences of the poisonous dystopian ideas they espouse. masters degrees are typically sought after by ego maniacs and narcissistic personality types. Most who do attain their masters never use it in the field they anticipated they would work when they started. My econ thesis was on education as it relates to future income inequalities. there is a peak after an undergrad degree and a divergence for those seeking a masters in business vs social disciplines. social disciplines usually end up at the lowest end of the pay scale while business focused masters end up at the higher end, undergrads float in the middle and tend to have a higher level of personal happiness
