When you have a mentor relationship and they have been gone a while or whatever the I miss yous will come out. It's like adopting someone as a little sister in a way. And to be fair she texted HIM I miss you first. At that point what is he supposed to say. Prolly like aww that's sweet I miss you too. It's just polite conversation and Canadians are known for being polite. I genuinely think that by not taking the girls words on this is almost as bad as victim shaming.
