Ok Curtis, I’m glad you made this one! Now let me ask you a hypothetical question because to me? It changes EVERYTHING! If you have a dude like Aries spears, and I take different jayz impersonations (say he sounds like jayz but you can still tell it’s Aries) and he teaches that voice to the AI. Now Aries spears wants to “cover” people’s songs (let’s say a Drake song; his shit got taken off TikTok right?) he pays the 18$ or whatever it costs, obviously it’ll have to be a different beat, but essentially universals “leverage of thier artists music goes out the window lol I. Terms of TikTok negotiations. It’s no different with covers than it is with actua songs writers too. Really ai is a massive advantage for song writers, because they can try their lyrics out with different artists and if they have a good ear, will be better off trying to market thier songs. That might be the next big play as far as ai goes, try and lock up all the song writers.

@AaronSmith-rk4mn ai takes away from the consumers and also it will replace artist. Picture a artist die, then the label says "they had 4 albums on shelf before they died" whole time it's all ai and they just tricked the consumers and made money off the dead. most ghostwriters give up all rights to the words so on insider info when people say drake is writing songs for other people he really has verses (he didn't pen) which he purchased that he owns outright(publishing and all) and passes it to the next person as if it was his. So many people don't know that slick side of his operation, on which he even gets publishing on a verse he purchased outright. When you ghost write and sell a verse you give up all rights and sign your publishing away with everything else attached to that verse. Some ghosts even sign NDA's while giving up all rights! Real music writers are credited and own the publishing like a Jimmy Jam and etc. This is where we are now in hip hop where the biggest rapper in the world is just memorizing while the culture is okay with it? Kendrick has is work cut out for him because Drake has rap diss verses at his disposal. Ghosts now can write verses spit them with ai voice changers (as drake) and he picks them up rerecord and boom. You're waking people up and its you whoo will stay true to the art.

As someone who has been testing out AI music since spring of last year you don't even need to pay for a website to do ai cloning. If you have no coding experience there are people who have made google collabs (online programming software) that has trained models. If you now a bit of programming you can create your own and/or train your own voice model very easily. Since Universal has access to all the songs and stems of these artists I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have extremely HQ AI models much better than any consumer level ones out there. They can train an AI with the Studio Quality vocal stems from every Drake (or insert artist) song they had ever made. They wouldn't even need to collab with google to get much better results than us average artists/consumers, just pay a freelance programer a couple bucks and the process is entirely automated. The fact that they *may* have a partnership with google is even scarier cause they will have access to all the cutting edge google technology and software regarding AI and AI cloning. It only gets better from here.

Curtis, it's possible that it was AI, but I think it was just a rough draft for Drake to get his verses down before the final version, and the song being mixed.
@MrHelloWorld147 ай бұрын
I’ve seen multiple run down of writers using an AI preset of artists, for example of DaBaby & SZA, perform the song with their particular cadences and what not, then add the preset and it sounds exactly like the artist their “embodying”. You could be write that it may have been a reference to get his flow and words down pat, but what’s iffy about it is who wrote it? Was it him? Or was it someone else? And was that an AI Drake preset added to the vocals to disguise it as a Drake reference track? If so… then it may confirm he’s the guinea pig for the AI advent in music and masks that he does use “ghostwriters” even when it comes to making this diss song. Ultimately that’s nasty work, and should tilt people’s heads at Drake when it comes down to being one of the best pens, at this moment. It’s also frightening to think of the prospects of how it can be used to manipulate the typical listener and everyday folks as a whole. Just a thought.

I feel like the second one is mixed and mastered and the first one was the recording most likely done in the moment, possibly on tour, a smaller studio set up. A lot of rappers will rap over an instrumental track and once their engineer gets ahold of it they can EQ the track, adjust the pitch and tempo, add reverb and stack the vocals, add ad libs where needed. Sometimes once they hear the verses put on the track they can go back and change different drum sounds etc. To me it sounds like the first one is the original recording, the second one seems like the tempo is sped up a little and his vocals seem to be pitched up slightly and layered to make his voice stronger and have more energy.

This is modern-day warfare. Lil Yachty is making money off the tech game right now. Drakes second diss track consisted of snoop and pac and is believed to be written by Drake. I honestly think that Drake is playing the ai game hard. I am not debating the writing. He is throwing stuff out and owning up to what sticks. Kendrick may be trying to keep it old school and can't keep up with the speed of the new tech. Plus kendrick is known to take his time anyway, and the battle may not be what we want by default.
