Miami Boat Ramps

Күн бұрын

Welcome to the Miami Boat Ramps channel. We are dedicated to bringing you all the craziness that goes on at the boat ramps in South Florida! Sit back and enjoy the show!
Ramps we currently cover: 79st (La 79!) / Black Point Marina / Haulover
We are working on adding 2 more ramps to the roster. Stay tuned!
Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe and leave us a comment. If you don't, we're coming to steal your drain plug!
Also be sure to check out our other channels

Disclaimer : We receive a ton of emails and messages from people telling us we filmed them at the ramp this past weekend and they want to know when the video will air. This is not a question we can typically answer. We film from three or more ramps every week and have a massive back log of content and sometime it could be weeks or months after an event occurs before we air the video. We put stuff out as fast as we can but we only air three videos a week and in a typical weekend get 6-10 episodes worth of content meaning we get content faster then we can air it. Thanks for watching and just be sure to keep watching looking for your content it will air but probably not immediately after it happens!

As a. New boater. Practice backing up your boat.. in a parking lot with lots of space ….put on some flags on your trailer to help… build up some confidence and you’ll be so. Happy you did…. Have a fun day. Stay safe !!!

Some folks forget they were new and had to learn once. Comes easier to some than to others. People with good spatial orientation pick it up quickly. I would always try to help the new guy. Ragging on them doesn't get the job done any faster, and I would say makes it take longer. Go learn, then when you are the pro, always be ready to help the new guy. You are never in so much of a hurry or too busy to help someone.

Well everyone was new at one time, the key is not to practice on the ramp. Go to a parking lot and practice till you can do it

Find a parking lot and practice man. Its very easy once you get some practice but its really difficult until you do. And people at a busy ramp are rarely polite.

There’s truly nothing funny about watching a person make mistakes that can potentially cause harm or worse. But I understand, keep supporting the channel, and maybe you’ll get a laugh soon enough. ❤

How horrible of a feeling them two princess’ must have, floating into the marina sideways powerless on a boat older than their grandfathers. Such a wonderful day out in the water, plagued with electric problems, steering problems and whatever else problems they had no one saw.

A common docking mistake is approaching it parallel to the dock. Generally, without wind/current, you want to come at it around 45 degrees so as the bow gets close you can use reverse to bring the stern in without it pulling the bow away and the boat comes to a stop parallel to the dock and close enough to reach it by hand or hop off with lines. It's even easier with multiple engines if you use them right and you can approach at shallower or steeper angles as needed.

The tell tale stream was coming out of the starboard side motor before I tried restarting the motor. Maybe the port motor was having trouble.

Approx how much room is there from the edge of the water to the curb? Or how much room do they have to pull forward and back up again?

How come the people of Florida standing on the dock never lend a hand to the people docking ?

Maybe it's the years of trucking experience, but I cringe watching some of these people try to back up. Makes me wonder if they can go forward without reeking havoc.

My god if you buy a boat or offer to tow someone’s boat (or any other trailer) take the damn thing to an empty field or parking lot and practice until you know what the hell you’re doing!!!!!!’

I only use fenders when docking for long periods of time or tying up to another boat. No reason to use them during loading/unloading
