To ber fair, Jonas was coming off a stomach bug so he wasn't at full throttle at that ITT like he was later on in the Vuelt. Just for context.

Roglic is probably the nicest person. No hate on jumbo vizma but the team looks like the antagonists. Not that I'm saying their doing evil stuff but that's how I see them. I may be biased toward Pogacar because of this but who cares. Roglic seems to me like their humble guy that didn't want to be in the evil side. Hate me, I don't care.

Roglic was the most selfish rider on Visma. It was best for everyone he found a new team. He couldn't accept not being number 1, he didn't even want to support Kuss winning Vuelta.
@silverblue2384
@silverblue2384 7 ай бұрын
It's just a difference in mentality, nothing good or bad about it. Visma puts an incredibly strong emphasis on team result over the captain's result. I.e. if someone lower in the hierarchy suddenly has better winning chances, the captain must ride for them. You could see that in the Vuelta, in the 2022 Tour and also in the way they approach the classics with 5 leaders instead of riding purely for Van Aert. Another example is Van Aert leading out Kooij in sprints, even though Van Aert could compete for the win himself there. On the other hand Roglic understandably wants to ride for himself and not be forced to put his own goals behind Vingegaard, Kuss or whoever. He has more than earned the right to be an outright captain and have a full team behind him no matter how the race goes. That just wasn't compatible with Visma's philosophy, but it is with Bora's. No one is right or wrong here, as Visma's approach seems to work well for Van Aert for example, who seems to not mind riding for other team mates in many races. Much to the annoyance of many of his fans, but it seems to suit his character.

I think that "attack" on Sepp during the Vuelta wasn't about the GC and more about Roglic conquering the Angliru, it had previously bested him. It was mentally what he needed, but exploited by the press. He seemed genuinely pleased for Kuss to take the overall. He deserves to have a TDF on his palmaris and with Bora he will at least have the chance to fight it out a couple more times. Here's hoping this is the year. Rooting for you. Be safe though, nothing is worth your life.
