I think that you should upload the things that you WANT to do. I would also upload to the Spinkya channel since that one isn't plagued with the Mario maker algorithm. When you're putting that time into your projects, it becomes much much easier to do when it's something you truly enjoy. I know how disappointing it is to feel that way. Uploading videos just for minimal views, it really hurts. But in one of your older videos, called How Smash Bros and KZbin Saved my Life, you stated that as long as you made one person laugh and made an impact on that one person, you had succeeded. Yes, I know that the numbers are actually important for you right now because it's your job. But you can't just go straight up to the top, you have to build your way up. I know how hard it is to be in a hopeless situation like you are. A few years ago, some things happened in my life that just left me feeling hopeless and like I didn't know what I was doing anymore. It hurts, a lot. But things will get better. My life now isn't perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than how it was before. And another thing. You aren't alone. Sure, you may be creating the videos by yourself, but just look at all the comments on this video. You have an entire community supporting you. Sure, we can't do any of the work FOR you, but we can definitely give advice, and help you through hardships. You just need to take it one step at a time. You will find your footing on this platform, and you will grow again. I know it. We hope you feel better, and good luck.

This is really eye opening to hear, I understand how much it sucks when you work really hard on something you are passionate about and it gets kicked to the curb. I’ve been watching you since 2020 when I was in fifth grade and you got me through that remote learning period in time. That being said. I think what you could do is you can make shorts out of your old gameplay clips. Then you could tie whatever video it was from at the bottom so they can click on it and you can get more views on your videos and exposure through your short form videos. It’s nice seeing someone be this open about his process. Can I offer my two cents? I started watching you for your Mario Maker. And looking back on it I think the thing that often pulled me back in was the small little storyline of you trying to get into S+ (and then red S+). Sure that might not be a great epic but it’s enough to keep get an audience hooked. I don’t always watch your other videos tbh, I like some of your recent Mario Party videos but in my opinion your charm is worth more than the recency of specific games. But I do feel that they’re missing a coherent story line. Also, unfortunately I think you’re significantly funnier than your friends (not a dig at them, but praise for you), so whenever you have them on I always find myself wanting them to let you speak. They don’t always have the best mic quality either, so that detracts as well. I love that you keep trying, you’ve clearly been struggling with the KZbin experience for quite a while now, but it’s great seeing you not give up. If you do want to branch out into different games consider why people started watching you play Mario Maker in the first place. It’s easy to understand, the skill level needed while occasionally high still leaves plenty of room for unrelated commentary, and your road to S+ gave us something to root for. In my opinion a slower paced game like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley could go well with your commentary style. Maybe Catherine (seeing as how you’re a Persona fan) but that might then not work with the demographic KZbin has for you… Anyway, if you got to the end of this letter-length KZbin comment I just want to say that I get it, it’s hard to find something that you both love doing and that pays well enough to keep doing it. Know that I and many others do love what you’re doing. And even if the 13.000 people watching this video aren’t enough to sustain you, that’s still 13.000 people that will willingly listen to you talk about your feelings. 13.000! You’re a wonderful man and whatever you do will have hundreds of thousands of people supporting you. The issue with youtube is that the youtube hustlers will say “if a video underperforms you can release more” but that’s not how it works. Each video is a work of art and an individual expression of creativity, not just something you pump out for money. Lacking the feeling of value after releasing a video sucks, both for you and your videos. What you make shouldn’t be dictated solely by random people saying “this isn’t very good” but the struggle is that it is always gonna happen. There’s never a win in any scenario because you’ll always have haters. Just keep going and things will go right.

The algorithm promotes consistency over good videos, remember that, I feel like your associating the failure of the videos to yourself and I know you may be aware of this but cant do anything about it. Also, idk if you know about it but you might want to look into ironic processing theory, with stuff you cant control like regrets or whatever, where your mind goes down the line of "i wish i wasn't regretting something right now", it offers of instead of wishing that you wouldn't regret it, "say in your head that i want to regret it", and for some reason it works, when I do it it just makes me laugh, and helps me. Just thought i would bring it up. Also also, if you already have thought about this or considered this disregard, but I personally like to think of the actions in the past as a different person. I used to really hate myself and lived a life full of regret, I drowned my sorrow in escapism, but now I feel a lot better. What constitutes a different person, because if you had a genetic clone of yourself, but you still existed I would consider that a different person. So based on that logic your passed self is just a genetic clone of you that has the ability to impact your future self, which is also a different person, however your current self can make your future self's life better. I love your content and have been subscribed since the early days, I used to listen to your videos when i would fall asleep (sounds weird, but its not just you. The ironic thing is that I think most of your subscribers feel the darkness in some way. We've all been there. I remember being in a lull when I was young. I remember always being stuck in youtube. I think when it comes to creative jobs, it hurts a lot more to see something fail, or be turned down. It’s so different from a work based job because it feels like people are saying something personal, be it videos, art, etc. isn’t good enough. When someone (or something in the case of the algorithm) rejects your work in a creative job in some cases it feels like they’re rejecting you, rather than your work. Make whatever videos you want to, if you have to, use this channel to make ends meet. Just remember that the reason this channel started blowing up was because of your passion for you work, and if you make what you care about on your new channel, it will most likely grow. Even if it doesn’t though, if all you do is make content you don’t enjoy, then this job is no better than any other dead end line of work. It’s important to have something you’re passionate about to work on, even if it’s not your job. Having that idea of what you want to do someday will keep you going, and hopefully, we can see that reality.

I don't really know what to say other than this *really* hit for me. That feeling where obviously what you're doing isn't "working", but any other suggestion you get feels unknowledgeable and inconsiderate, and so you're left with this inescapable feeling that you're being held back, either by the systems around you or by your own fear. I don't know what the answer is, but I think you've taken the first best step in saying that you're not giving up! Keep going! There's a place and a niche and a home out for you somewhere!

in my opinion, which may be wrong, cause i don't make videos so i can't say how the algorithm works, but what i think the algorithm likes. Maybe doing more videos, with less time commitment to each one, YT will notice you're keeping a somewhat constant cosistent uploading schedule, and will push your videos on people's feed more often. When you used to make more mario maker videos more consistently i used to get them on my feed, but that's just what experienced, cause maybe ME at that time watched a different kind of videos that made the algorithm show me more of your videos i'd say try to stick to what you want to do and what you have fun doing, because doing what you don't enjoy and having to EDIT THAT on top will burn you more than anything (or at least that's how i would feel). The algorithm can be ruthless and like you said at the end, the work ethic of YT without having a set schedule can turn into something very unhealthy in both directions. Man, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I started watching your videos right before one of yours breaks in 2022, and I just loved all of your content. I'll always watch your new videos and root for you, no matter what it is. I know this is easy for me to say, since I'm not in your shoes, but although there are people who will comment terrible things, there are so many of us who love your content and compliment it. Don't let one bad comment nullify 50 loving comments. Do whatever is best for you and we'll always cheer you on. Take care (: I do have an idea to possibly gain you more traction. Shorts tend to get a lot of views in general, and it could potentially get more attention to your regular videos, if you posted funny clips or something. Just an idea.

A lot of these comments aren't talking about the video, which is a shame. I understand what's happening big guy, and I understand how you feel. It's a tough situation, and It's just hard to see. You try so hard to make great videos, and your viewers all love your stuff, but for some reason the videos don't have the views/reach they should. Over the past couple of years, I've been one of those 'inactive subscribers', but I've made an effort over the past couple of months to keep up with your stuff. I'm excited to see what you do in the future.

Hopefully this will be helpful: the youtube algorithm like content that alot of people are watching consistently, thats why subscribers are so helpful, those are people that you can count on to come back to each and every video you make. People watch KZbin videos most of the time not for the game they are playing but who they are and the type of content they make, so honestly I don't think the game you play matters as much as you are making it out to. The reason why mario maker was so good for you was because 1: it brought out your best type of content, it was the perfect game for you to be able to spontaneously be funny and dramatic and sometimes just talk how you wanted to. And 2: the whole "endless easy" thing was very easy to come back to over and over again, people (me included) wanted to watch the bar go up, see how you progressed towards the eventual final goal. Its the same with competitive/co'op gameplay, people wanted to see you get to S+. I feel like thats why your mario party videos don't do as well, it doesn't click as well with your content and the catch factor to get people coming back every single time isn't there, especially when you dont upload consistently but I'm sure you know that... As for moving forward, you need to focus on creating a formula that has what you need in it. You need a way to make content that brings out the best part of you, and its need something that catches viewers and brings the back time and time again. My suggestion? Your editing style. That's what most people like about their favorite creators that isn't just their personality and choice of games. Look around at creators that make similar content to yours, creators that you like, and popular creators that alot of people like, and use that to make your own editing style that highlights the best parts of your content and keeps viewers coming back every video you make. If anything you have the most supportive and patient community I have ever seen on KZbin, rely on them and they will keep you afloat.

Hey, i’ve been watching your content for the past three maybe four years, and you made a huge difference in my life. I enjoyed your content so much (still am) and you were a big inspiration for me. I know its sounds kind of ridiculous but even nowdays when i dont have a lot of time to watch your videos, i can still sense that its been a while from last upload and it hurts me to see it because i can see you have an amazing heart and a lot of passion. I won’t tell you to keep making videos if it doesn’t give you joy anymore but I truly believe in you and I truly want to see more of you regardless of the content your creating. I watch you because i like your personality and humor not because of the content you make (for me it’s just a bonus). When i watch your videos i always go back to my younger years when i binged your entire channel when I was i was eating cereal and was laughing so hard i’d spill the milk everywhere. You were and still have a great influence on my life and i am just one in thousands maybe more. Your videos brought me peace in hard times and i hope you could understand someday that the mistakes you’re making are only making you stronger and teach you how to be better.
