It's interesting how so often the fastest times are run in the semis cos in the finals they try too hard. Sprinting is most efficient when one is relaxed. Lindsey demonstrated the epitome of relaxed sprinting.

Besides the competitiveness of the heats, it's also a very compressed schedule. They have to run the 4x100, 100 and 200 over the course of 2 hours.

@matomem Let me guess. You are African, right?🤔I think they already made history due to the fact that four are going to be in the 100m Finals. In the 100 Semifinals the Qualifiers include Godson OGHENEBRUME 2nd, Favour ASHE 3rd, Shaun MASWANGANYI 5th, and Udodi ONWUZURIKE 9th. So you have four good chances there. 👏👏👏👏In the 200m Semifinals ONWUZURIKE finished first, Tarsis OROGOT 3rd, and Shaun Maswanganyi 6th. That may also be a record number for the 200m. 👏👏👏

He won the indoor, that's nothing to sneeze at and he's been top 5 so what? I don't get why it matters to so many people so much.... it seems to only be certain types of people who care. I really don't get the Boling hate. It's never ending. He'll be an alternate on some relay team someday and they'll break a record and people will be in the comments section still talking about he didn't do this or that.... lol 😂 What it must be like to be so worried about a single individual and for what?

@pukulu Fahnbulleh grew up and trained in Minnesota before going to Florida for college. He only represents Liberia internationally because he wouldn't make the US team. @vernonfrance2974 Жыл бұрын
Actually, last year he tied with Onwuzurike with a time of 20.24 but got fourth in the Prelims due to a slightly slower time when the results were taken to the thousandths position. He went on to take second to the now pro Joseph Fahnbulleh. This year his time was 20.25 so his "drop off was not crazy." Only someone who is a bit math challenged would see .01 difference as significant.

I think the long-standing NCAA record will fall on Friday, provided good weather. 6 men under 20 seconds in the final is insane. It’s also interesting that every single athlete in the final qualified with a personal best, which indicates that this is a fast track and we can be excited for other fast times this weekend (like Julien Alfred in the 100m).

Since he qualified in 4th which is NOT winning, what makes you confident he will win the finals? As far as I know he has not come through to win all that consistently. Thank God Boling will have run his last race for Ga this weekend. I can't figure out what happened. Yes, he's a good college runner but nowhere near what I thought he would be based on his unbelievable performances in HS. Yes, I know his 9.98 was wind aided and his 44.7, was on a relay but who the hell runs those times in HIGH SCHOOL. He got to Georgia and initially ran the 60 which was never his race. Then they had him competing in the long jump, 100, 200 and sometimes 4 x 400. They never really found where he should best perform. They decided to concentrate on the 200 when he probably would have been more competitive in the 400. Consequently either one of two possibilities exist. He peaked and never progressed at the rate we all expected, or he was not properly coached. We'll never know. But maybe after he graduates he'll find a top coach and perhaps we'll find out.

@artcassell6170 I have been designated unofficially a "Boling Fan Girl," 😂 by some of the anti-Boling commenters so I must ask why you write: "Thank God Boling will have run his last race for Ga this weekend." I believe he has been a tremendous asset as shown by the points he's garnered, the number of All American awards he's received and the fact that he's been SEC Scholar Athlete representing Georgia four years in a row. He has also been very generous donating a lot of his NILs money and equipment to high schools. Because of the COVID year he has another year of eligibility. Whether he will take it or not remains to be seen. Because he is not doing as well as in the past I'd like to see him try the Decathlon if he competes next year. I think he would do well in the majority of events and Kyle Garland, the outstanding Georgia Decathlete is a senior so he won't be going up against him. He could still run in the 4 x 400 relay if they wish.

@@vernonfrance2974 I have been following Boling since his HS performances and watched him compete the last 4 years in GA. He has indeed done a lot for GA. But I am disappointed that he didn't do better in his college years and not even making the finals in the NCAA 200 really hurt. I believe, without any real evidence that his coaches had a real unique talent when he came to GA and it never came to fruition. I blame them because when I watched him run, he exudes talent. I am not an anti Boling person, I am a disappointed Boling fan.

@@lilcourtny08 who is arguing about his future? The dude just said 'good effort' but you guys true hate just shines bright when you go off and make a strawman argument just to argue something negative about Boling. It's really crazy you all don't see how petty you look.

You need to cover the decathlon, after day one I'm predicting both Kyle Garland and Leo break the championship record. Combined events never are shown and this would be the perfect time to talk about it.🙏 Edit: accidentally said collegiate record instead of championship record
