Patty Duke is so young here, I can't believe she is gone. She was such a wonderful actress and inspiration to women. I am 64 and also watched the show she made about her life - she played herself and was so open and honest - she stared in so many different movies, her series as a teen -So Many movies that touched on difficult subjects, many based on True stories.

@@childofthecreatorgod9962 I certainly am old enough (born '53) to remember Patty from Brooklyn Heights and Cathy from Scotland! This isnt just a "single parent/broken home" problem. My husband and I (married 28 years) raised our son with rules and dicipline, church, consequences for his actions, etc and he STILL strayed from what he was taught and got into a LOT of trouble as a teenager. We stuck with him and thank God he grew out of his rebellion and is now a fine 25 year old husband and father and we couldn't be more proud of him. It was only by the grace of God that we all made it through those hard rebellious years.

A prime example of how parents treat their children after they divorce. The mother usually becomes the bad guy and the gets off with not coming around but one thing is for sure, she can scream really loud that he pays her child support and she “BLOWS” instead of spending it on the kids. She feeds, clothes them and keeps a roof over their heads and has to tell them no when they ask for things. Old dad comes around (sometimes) bearing gifts and the kids think he is wonderful. When they do get to see him they are so thrilled that they forget how he really is. When all is said and done, they take their frustrations out on their sweet mother. That is what this world has come to. There I said my peace.

When kids started to speak to adults any way they pleased and the adults just let them, then pandered to them.... now look where it's lead with far too many kids.... it gives kids a false sense of their own wisdom which they have not yet developed. There is a difference between fostering a child's intelligence and creativity and letting them become little tyrants.
