Solo starts at 9:31, 16:44. Man, I love how you’ve done this. Rumor has it that George Harrison wrote this (and Here Comes the Sun) on ukulele. Your tutorial points toward that being more than likely. Thanks for this!

I do not really know about how he wrote Something, but he definitely wrote Here Comes the Sun in the garden of Eric Clapton with a guitar he borrowed from that very man! But I understand your point, I also noticed that so many Beatles songs are very easy to play on ukulele... easy to play but still tunes no one else could have possibly imagined

I would love a tutorial for Day Tripper like this... it was so helpful with the solo and all!
@GregoryEvansMusic5 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting idea! I do have a guitar Day Tripper, but I never thought of a uke version. I’ll look into it.
@sanjoseukuleleclub155 жыл бұрын
@@GregoryEvansMusic I came up with four song sheets for Day Tripper. One in the original key (E) and another in the easier key of D (my favourite) and abridged versions (no instrumental) for both. The two riffs are so important to this song. I figured them out so those with re-entrant ukes can play them but they require ukes with more than 12 frets. You'll notice that the fingering pattern/sequence is the same for both riffs, just on different frets. GA- SJUC

Could you let me know the Strumming Pattern for this if you don’t mind. Sorry I really am a Newbie. But would love to play this as my first song. I seen a clip of Jake Shimabukuro playing the wee intro. Many thanks for this full version. Really well explained a Real Tribute to George.

Your singing is good... so what's the problem? Thank you for this tutorial. I love this song... perhaps I will manage to play some day... What is missing a little bit is the name, or even better a chord diagram, during your explanation. And now at the very end my I dare ask you: wouldn't you be interested in doing a tutorial on "I'd rather go blind" by Etta James?There aren't so much tutorials out for this one on youtube...
@GregoryEvansMusic6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don't know for sure what singing does for anybody trying to learn uke, it does give students a sense of how the song should go. I have started to include the chord diagrams in videos so that's a great suggestion. I also told viewers in this video to go to the San Jose uke club website and download their own copy, which takes just minutes. This song has a lot of tab so having a paper copy in front of you while I go through this song is the best.

My advice would be to go to the Sweetwater.com site and look for guitar is there that are in your price range, you can also call them up on the phone and ask them. It depends what you want to spend. They are really good about sending guitars back to them if for some reason you don’t like it. And they can tell you what they have in stock as far as left-handed guitars.

which guitar is best to buy for beginners ??
@GregoryEvansMusic6 жыл бұрын
That's a hard question to answer, unless I have a student standing right with me in the music store. Electric guitars are easy to push down the strings (usually called action) and they are physically smaller. But if a student likes acoustic music then obviously that's the kind of guitar they should get. The size of the guitar is important, kids and sometimes women like smaller body guitars because obviously they are easier to hold. Price matters also, in guitar world you can buy relativity inexpensive guitars that play and sound good. One good thing to do is go to a music store and play the guitars that are appealing. Try out different sizes and shapes and prices. Play really expensive guitars and really inexpensive guitars so you can compare.
