Great to see Bruce feeling well and so energetic. Some of the edge is missing compared to the early days of this podcast, but that is to be expected seeing as Brother Bruce is working with the company in a major role. This is leaps and bounds above what the show was for a couple years when it felt the passion for it was gone a bit. I commend Connie and Brucie for staying committed to bringing us this awesome show. This ppv was one of the first wrestling shows I rented from Blockbuster back in the day. I ended up hooking up two VCRs so I could record it and I still have it today. The King Haku vs Harley Race match wasn't included on the Coliseum Video version of the show, sadly.
@stupidfathobbit4262 Жыл бұрын
There was also some edits to the Rumble as well. For example there was a stretch of wrestling during the battle royal where Studd, Akeem, Martel, Beefcake, Dibiase and Barbarian wrestled longer in the end but in the edit after Martel eliminated Barbarian he does a cross body on Akeem immediately and is tossed out. In the original seen on the dvd box set in 07 that Martel cross body happens about 90 seconds later. You can tell because the other wrestlers were in different spots in the ring during those segments.

Seems a lot of Andre's bullying and general unpleasantness towards some of the other stars often goes forgotten. Maybe Big John was having an off day? 450lbs is a lot for an average guy to deadlift but I'd have to think it'd be easy for him with those long arms and massive body. I always heard he was a keen lifter too. Maybe he was in great gym shape but his injuries had wrecked his strength. He slammed Akeem easily enough in a match around this time and I have to think he could've easily slammed Andre too, if Andre didn't hate him.
