Who doesn’t love dyno noises ? It’s an epic build and looks absolutely awesome.

Your car looks amazing. My first car was a mini 850 , sliding windows, piece of string to close the doors, long gear lever, I loved that car it gave me my freedom

Thank you! Your mini sounds wonderful. The early 850s, while not being fast cars, were absolutely wonderful vehicles. The 850s were so damn reliable.
@stevenclarke56067 ай бұрын
@@classicminidiy yes totally agree with you, Mini 850 were definitely not fast, but as my first car probably helped protect me. Also they were so simple that you were able to maintain them yourself , oil change, new points, clutch slave cylinder, seized hand brakes.

Nice video, and so far good results! I'm also waiting for the driving video(s) 😎👍

My 1975 Clubman GT 1275cc made 90whp at 8psi on a DynoJet with super rich air/fuel and conservative timing. Using the Jet Motors turbo kit. That was two years ago ago it’s still running great.
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
Awesome I’m glad you’re happy with your setup! You should consider leaning out your mixture in boost though if it’s really rich. Too much fuel can bore wash the cylinders.
@vipwryann7 ай бұрын
@@classicminidiy my car only made around 46whp before the Jet Motors turbo kit install, the extra 44whp that boost added makes my car so much fun to drive! I’m only rich in high RPM high boost, the rest of the RPM range its between 13.0:1-14.5:1.

Very cool. Curious how high the Coolant Temps got during the dyno session and if they were ever a problem.
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Under those heavy boost runs I was bouncing off 98-99C but never broke 100C. Quite impressed with the radiator and those two fans. The ambient temp was about 18C that day though
@murty44717 ай бұрын
@@classicminidiy That's great. Really thought it may be a problem with the side mounted radiator.
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
@@murty4471 I was also quite surprised. I installed an electric fan controlled by the ECU under the inner wing as well so that has a nice impact. The intercooler was doing a really awesome job of keeping inlet temps down, so I think given the air going in was cooler it was cooler coming out over all haha!

@@classicminidiy Very cool. I may have to add an electric fan as well.

Hi, why the exhaust was so red? Is it safe to run with such hot exhaust?
@ElliotSTR7 ай бұрын
The exhaust on all performance vehicles, especially with a turbo gets to those temperatures
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
I do agree with Elliot’s message, performance engines especially ones running high boost generate a ton of heat. What’s happening specifically with that center branch of the exhaust is it has two cylinders of boosted heat through that one pipe. So double the heat there. Aside from that the engine had a bit more room to advance the timing more which will keep more of the combustion in the cylinder and less of it in the exhaust. That said with 21psi there is only so much you can do! That’s why intercooler and heat management are so important

Cole are going to try an autocross at Z-Max ?

What fuel choice?
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
For these runs premium pump gas. Once I get the petrol tune where I like it I have considered running E85 with a flex fuel sensor but that would be way down the road

I am doing my own Mini and I wonder what does it feel like driving a 200 bhp Mini. How quick is it? Does it make a huge difference having such power on cornering?
@classicminidiy7 ай бұрын
The extra power is genuinely amazing. It makes the car feel more modern and more like what you’d expect from a newer car, but with all the old car charm. With 200+hp the car is genuinely terrifyingly fast but it’s so fun great for blasting the blue ridge mountain roads near my house.
