R.I.P Sir...quick personal story...was on a Carnaval Cruise in 2005ish with my wife and three other couples for the wive's Bday gift. 7 Day cruise and on day 2 by the pool I hear this gregarious laugh and joke about a drink. I turn to see and after 30 seconds realize it is Pat Patterson. Got to hear two karaoke renditions of I did it my way over the next few nights. Most folks had no idea who he was but it was great to meet such a kind person who would talk to anyone who did recognize him and said hi. Again R.I.P Pat.

It's amazing that when I started watching in the 80s Pat Patterson was just that referee at WrestleMania. That guy who I heard was the first Intercontinental Champion. The guy who created the rumble. I don't have much appreciation for Pat Patterson's in ring work because it was a different generation but I am thankful for the influence he had on my favorites and the impact he had on them. There's a whole new generation of fans who didn't get the opportunity to watch current agents and producers doing the same job that Pat did.

My in-laws had a connection to a WWE Sponsor (I think an energy drink) so I was able to get backstage for an impromptu meet and greet with Rob Van Dam at a Raw broadcast. While walking through Pat walked by us. He was by himself and heading in the direction of Vince's office. I recognized him immediately and he did seem to notice me and quickly averted his eyes away. After we had passed I leaned to my nephew and said "that was Pat Patterson." He had no idea who he was.

Back in the day, the suburb of NJ that I called home finally got cable in 1981. One of the first matches I saw on the MSG network was Pat Patterson vs the crooked horrible Sgt. Slaughter in an Alley Fight. Pat came out in a white "I Love NY" t-shirt. I had never seen a match with that much blood in it at the time and I remember going to school and telling my friends about how real it was. @Andrew Bowyer he also used to babysit Flair on his podcast when Flair had one. But at least there he was relegated to being the third mic fact checker. On Something To Wrestle With he has the delusion of being somehow being not far from Bruce's level. I can tell Bruce isn't always in to doing this show, but he's talented enough to where he can make it work while phoning it in.

To be fair That's at the beginning of all of his podcasts I'm kinda used to seeing that add before the show begins and I didn't even count it It's pretty lame to sit up and post negative comments at a time like this It's pretty lame to try and shit on Conrad just because he is a go getter and he makes money That's why they have adds Especially on a free service like KZbin He said no adds during the tribute and there wasn't any besides the normal KZbin adds That's totally out of his control
