Respect to Bradshaw for those Olympic style Will Ospreay acrobatic maneuvers he's pulling to defend Vince and not using "wrestling" to promote WRESTLING!!!!!

I get a lot of these and didn't care enough about the others, but the belt thing is baffling to me. The physical item is a belt that represents a title. As for only holding up pants, what about weightlifting belts? Belts have different uses.
@jimmyju7616 күн бұрын
a belt is what you use to hold up your pants, if you think everything else made sense then so should that

Here is the problem with all this. It makes people speak unnaturally which causes more issues than it solves and most importantly takes you out of the moment. Its one of the most refreshing things in the HHH era and probably to a small degree of why WWE is doing better than it ever has. The wrestlers sound real and not robotic like they glitched out of the matrix.

As a fan who watched WWF/E from. 94 to 07 consistently. I absolutely loathed the term "WWE Universe". And I always wondered why they never referred to get the wrestlers as wrestlers. Well. There you go. It's vince. I wonder who got the idea for the awful spinner belt. But Vince pushing the company thru the times of the Wuhan virus something else.

That 'awful' spinner belt sold a sh!tload of replicas. So while you may laugh at the design, he laughed all the way to the bank

@NateNizzle not disagreeing with you. There's an audience for every category. I'm more of a traditionalists but if I were vince I would exploit the hell out of that demographic too and add more "bling" to it.
@GenX688717 күн бұрын
My only issue with the spinner belt was when they made it the default belt. It should've been Cena's exclusive belt, just like the Smoking Skull was for Austin.

Yeah, not "excuse" - "technicality" is more appropriate. Vince has been in business long enough to know that the cheapest ways to program television have always been game shows and wrestling. I think he saw how Family Feud, Price Is Right, Wheel, and Jeopardy had to shut down production for COVID and knew they'd return eventually but the WWE would be afforded no such luxury so he had to manufacture a technicality (putting on shows with a virtual audience) so that the networks didn't use COVID as a technicality to get out the TV contract. Sometimes the morally apprehensible can be ingenious for business if not compulsory to survival.

I believe the term "universal" was really meant to remove the term "heavyweight" as well as "wrestling". When the WWE decided to put a heavyweight championship on Rey Mysterio, that was the beginning of the disrespect of heavyweights. It got even worse with pathetic physical specimens like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
