This was a great show. I loved this show. In my mind, Hogan vs Shawn 1 had set the bar so high that I dont think doing more matches would have been the best. Matt was so brought back for a couple of reasons, 1. to capitalize on real life stuff thanks to Stephanie and 2, pressure from fans.

Not knocking him, just found it interesting

The best at what? Wrestling or drawing money? At the end of the day, Vince was all about the money. Shawn wasn't a draw. Hogan was. @@Rschr101 He checks more off of the list. Drawing isn't so clearcut either. If you define it as bringing people in as champ, obviously Hogan wins. Shawn Michaels hits Hogan with a chair, drops the top rope elbow on him, and super kicks him. And then hogan kicks out 😲🤨🤔⁉️ Just didn't make sense to me. "I've lost more matches than I won"...tell that to every guy that wrestled in WWF from '84-'90 He never lost to triple H, the rock was already over without needing to be put over by a 49-year-old hogan. Now he did lose more in WCW than he did in WWF but he's certainly won more matches than he lost
@pikkon8994 жыл бұрын
That "49 year old Hogan" came back and dwarfed The Rock's reactions and as a heel, technically speaking and at Wrestlemania. The problem with his WWF run in the 80's is that he was the top guy. Obviously he's going to win because the company was based around Hogan, the top draw. He lost more WCW, where he was prior to coming back. I'm not defending Hogan but come on now. Look at the context. That's a direct reference to his WCW career. Everyone knows Hogan won more in the 80's. As far as Triple H is concerned, now we care about Triple H? First it's Triple H burying guys but now "Hogan never lost to Triple H" Come on now, really? Hogan was more over than both of them during that time. Both Shawn and Hogan are notorious for being insecure. Who cares?

@@shanehart1520 it was an ego issue. And in the last 15 years ok sure, because 15 years ago he was in his 50s and I hope in his head he wasnt thinking of going over in his matches. I'll admit I'm a little biased because I'm a Texas boy, but Shawn walking down to the ring in a suit and pink tie, yelling "Who's your daddy, Montreal?" and then the promo that followed, is my favorite promo of all time. Just like Conrad eluding to Wade Keller's write up in the torch, it was a throwback to the old arrogant Shawn, but without being unnecessarily crude or obscene. The man was born again, straight and narrow, but for those ten minutes, the cocky, arrogant primadonna who ran his mouth off to the wrong marine that night in Syracuse, and alienated the entire locker room sans the Kliq in the mid to late 90s.

Agreed. shows you can cut a great "edgy" promo" without going in the gutter. I think some people want to dislike Shawn so much they will latch on to ANY slip up on his part post 2002 and say "See, see, he hasn't changed". To those people I say "look in the mirror pal...Shawn was a Christian, not perfect. He definitely changed but still had the same drive he did before and is human. Honestly, throw out all the testimony of friends and his almost entire body of work post 2002...the fact that he only won the title once, for less than 30 days post 2002 tells you he changed."

Let’s be realistic here they were never going to get an even series of matches from Hogan and Michaels. They were lucky to get this one match and you can see how that went down it was like pulling teeth. Two of the biggest egos and locker room political forces going head to head something had to give. Either of these guys could have written a book on how to lose matches without really putting your opponents over.

"If you go back and look at my career, I've probably lost more matches than I've won..." There's no way Hulk Hogan said that with a straight face.

Ffs just discuss something! Literally just skimming over notes. Take a tangent and get Bruce to elaborate on SOMETHING

Listening to Bruce defend awful creative like Eddie and RM here doesn't bode well for WWE's future.

Jesus christ, we all knew it before that Bruce will tow the company line and have this weird worshipping and backing of Shawn Michaels, to the point where all the shit we heard obviously never happened {shawn's pitfalls and attitude problems and all the backstage drama] the way Bruce talks about him, but hearing him actually trying to sell Shawn Michael's bumping as not disrespectful broke the dam, it's obvious, vince, bruce shawn had a threesome, or had some weird 3 way relationship

Doesn't matter how terrible the idea is, if Vince came up with it Bruce supports it. Hell he even come up with BS to defend it #PuckerUPbrucy

Shawn was great in the ring. His other unique ability was that his promos got under the skin of his opponents in a genuine way.

First time ever I am really disappointed with your podcast. All the trash read about Hogan from the news letters, not once did Bruce comment on that. The things he commented on was the out come of the match, what was planned etc. It felt like Bruce did not want to comment quite frankly. But that is just me

@@sxhbk I am really not a Hogan hater, but it would have been nice if Bruce would have addressed all the dirt sheet writings occurring. He did with some, a few, but not much at all. So the question remains, who was difficult to deal with, and why? How much as accurate in the news letters?

Poor podcast and totally agree. Maybe best days are behind this now. Bruce won't move from his fench

entertaining episode. The Eddie- Ray stuff was funny. Never watched this ppv though. Huckster and Michaels are in different universes to me and never wanted to see it
