I could tell these guys had beef. Even when I was 19 or 20 years old watching Monday Night RAW I remember seeing one of their matches and thinking they are working stiff as hell and thinking it looks like they're really fighting. From Godfather and others...Ahmed intentionally took advantage of Simmons, when Simmons gave up his body. In the business, wrestlers TRUST their "opponent" to not hurt them, when they expose themselves. Ahmed injured Simmons when Simmons GAVE HIS BODY to him. Ahmed took advantage and injured Ron. Ron got pissed. Ron Simmons isn't someone to be trifled with. When Ron recovered, he got even. Simple as that.

Ahmed Johnson was ultimately released from the WWE because he "refused to job" to anyone. There was an awkward incident where Ahmed told world champion Undertaker that he was taking the strap from him. Undertaker said: "You didn't read the script. I am keeping the strap, and you're losing the match." Well, this "set off" Ahmed, and he was subsequently terminated for being an "argumentative ass." Ahmed did not possess the "social intelligence" needed to be the face of any wrestling promotion.

When does he talk about Ahmed injuring Farooq?
@billblaski9523
@billblaski9523 2 жыл бұрын
It seems theres some misinformation out there cus of what Mark Henry said on Austins podcast. Lets clear some stuff up. That was Farooqs debut when he kicked Ahmed in the ribs and injured him during that tag match vs the Smoking Gunns. That was the first time ever they ever met. So that wasnt cus of the time Ahmed injured Farooq for 9 months so Farooq was just getting revenge, NO. Ahmed never injured Farooq where he had to take time off. The whole time Ahmed was in WWE, Farooq was never out for 9 months, not even 1 month due to injury. Henry's memory is a bit off and I truly think he wasnt intentionally lying, but thats legit how he remembered it. Cus Henry wasnt even a full-time wrestler in WWE when Farooq and Ahmed were feuding. The human mind is weird and add in a job where you get hit in the head with a steel chair, it wouldn't be uncommon for someone to have false memories, happens alot. So I dont know what event Henry was talking about where Farooq whupped Ahmeds ass during a match, maybe a house show like way later in 1997 but it certainly wasnt cus Ahemd put Farooq out for 9 months, cus thats simply not true.

I actually know Mr. Connor (D'lo Brown) and his family. Henry's timeline is off but Ron was indeed pissed off for getting injured by Ahmed. But Ron was not out for 9 months. It was only a couple weeks. The story I heard from Mr Conner is Ahmed was not happy that Ron was coming to the WWF. Ahmed wanted to be the most popular and decorated black wrestler during that time and he felt Ron was a threat to that. So when Ahmed finally got to go up against Ron he decided to purposely be stiff and reckless in the ring which is a big no no in wrestling. As a result Ron gets injured and put on the shelve. Ron knew Ahmed had issues with him coming to the WWE and probably injured him on purpose. So Ron decided to get payback
@billymarino4452
@billymarino4452 9 ай бұрын
@@Hatim_Supreme_Salaam That sounds pretty plausible to me. Ron Simmons was the first black heavyweight champion (granted it was WCW), so Simmons had a lot of potential to outshine Ahmed. There is a shoot interview with Ahmed, from around 15 years ago, where he explains the kick incident. The rumor was that Ron kicked Ahmed on purpose because Ahmed was working stiff with everyone, including Simmons, and it was a message to calm down. Ahmed disputed it, saying that he never met, let alone worked with Simmons until that match. He thinks Simmons was jealous of Johnson because Johnson was pushed to the moon from the start. Johnson did admit that he probably rubbed people the wrong way because he's kind of a loner and didn't really introduce himself to the boys when he first arrived. Blue meanie (yes I know he has nothing to do with this, but hear me out), said in his shoot interview that it's kind of an unspoken rule that the new guy goes up to everyone and introduces himself first. I don't think Johnson really did that, and I'm sure it pissed people off.

I know, this never gets mentioned. And Simmons admits to intentionally hurting Ahmed. Make no mistake, Ahmed Johnson was a million dollar talent that was the victim of some serious jealousy. Think about once Ahmed left the WWE. The Rock stole half his moves. Stone Cold stayed far away from him because he didn't natch up at all with him and it was not believable. Plus Ahmed had a rough upbrining as a child. Don't you think that if you are going to invest millions on a guy you might put a manager with him to build his mystique ala Brock Lesnar? Dlo was not the next big thing. He paralyzed a man in the ring. The Godfather was more popular as a pimp then a wrestler. And Mark Henry never caught on. Farooq became a one line comedian with Bradshaw. Only the Rock became a top world title performer. But would have been standing next to Ahmed? Maybe Ahmed was too strong, or maybe he was to black for the public for the mulatto skinned Rock?
@uzi978
@uzi978 Жыл бұрын
@@gopherstate777 Or maybe Ahmed was just too stupid, selfish, and not a good enough wrestler to be in the business. Go listen to some interviews with the guys who were around him, Ahmed was a cancer to himself. Why do you think WCW never picked him up? All he was, was physique, had zero rings skills or charisma. Had nothing to do with his race, in fact his race helped him get signed. Jim Ross, head of talent relations, said so himself.

The 2x4 was lack of creativity. If he came out with a baseball bat he would have been accused of copying Sting. Wrestling recycles props, gimmicks & storylines constantly. HHH recycled the hit on Goldberg from Harley Race ( R.I.P. ). v.venis was a cheap, awful repackaging of The late great Rick Rude ( R.I.P. ) Anything labeled "the new" is guaranteed garbage ( Blackjacks, Rockers, Midnight Express ). jj's guitar weapon was a cheap imitation of The Honky Tonk Man

I’d have gone a kookaburra. Nothing like a cricket bat and the cheap ones have a seperate handle that would easily snap off and look like it destroyed a guy.

I never really saw Sunny as being Faarooq’s manager, but more as a valet/a way to get him over immediately. But even as his manager, I don’t see it as a stretch. I actually think it was kind of a progressive idea that she was his manager.

Yeah, it's a little bad form to have two white guys trying to explain the dynamics of controversial African-American centric theme that comes with race and sexuality. This has historically cost the lives of thousands of Black men and boys for being equally dismissive in a socieity that had, and even to an extent today, have a low tolerance to see a black male paired with a white female. It may sound silly but its an actual thing. Something we hear about ALL. THE. TIME. If we are in the company of white women or they are in the company of Black men. That's WHY comments were made. Its not something to be so dismissive over or to assume its not a real thing.

Ron Simmons is the reason Ahmed Johnson is gone and the sad part is Ron was jealous of Ahmed and I’ll say it you are Ron Simmons fans and that’s cool but Ahmed Johnson was boned

Farooq had it coming, he injured Ahmed first. Ahmed was never the same after Farooq kicked him. Shame. Dude had that IT factor. Just needed to fine tune his technique.

"It factor?" Hahaha! He had the shit factor. His look was impressive initially but he was so bad at everything that it didn't matter. Couldn't talk, Couldn't wrestle. At all.

thats not true the wrestlemania 13 months prior when ahmed kicked him and broke the ribs enough to puncture a lung started that, almost a year later farooq repaid that with kidney damage.

“It factor” 😂😂😂. Vince pushed him to the moon. He was over for a little bit until Ron Simmons crushed him for real because he was a reckless moron. Didn’t last 6 months after that. Nobody could stand him.

Farooq and the rest of the black wrestlers were clearly jealous of how OVER ahmed was. Period. That’s how black peoples are toward the success of other blacks in their line of work.
