Sometimes I play Solo in my game room. Here's a list of favorites.

Thought I'd share a list of my go-to solo games to start off the new year.
I recorded this before the holidays, and wouldn't you know... Santa brought me a few more solo-able games to play!
This is sort of a favorites list, not a rating, rating, or review. From pocket-sized roll-and-write challenges to sprawling adventures that fill the table, I often partake of the solitaire pastimes when there's nobody around to sit across the table from me.
Share some of your favorite solos, and recommend me some, too!

Since you’re a fan of Forbidden Island, I’d recommend Burgle Bros.. It has a familiar look to Forbidden Island with a nice “heist” twist. I’d also recommend Warp’s Edge which is a solo-only game that has a great bag-building, Groundhog’s Day-type of gameplay in which you’re repeating the battle over again while keeping all of the upgrades gained. Finally, there is a Star Wars The Clone Wars Pandemic game that you may find incredibly fun! Thank you for the video and I hope you have a great 2024!

I don't play many solo games, but I've really enjoyed Tetrarchia. Clever design, thematic, thinky.

I enjoy solo gaming. Even if the game is made for two or more I play as though two are playing. I also try and enjoy making up my own solo rules on multi player games. I really have fun when alone. Even with just rolling dice.

I just recently started playing solo, I’m a middle aged guy myself and my wife doesn’t share the same passion that I do for gaming. I have really been enjoying Horrified lately. Hopefully my copies of Heat and Marvel Zombies shows up tomorrow to give those a try. Happy New Year sir!

Heat is a very fun game solo. i haven't played marvel zombies but i do play zombicide 2nd edition.

Your reason to play is similar to mine. The difference being that my kids are quickly no longer kids and I find myself with considerably more free time than I’ve had for the past 20 years. My wife doesn’t share my passion for board games but I’ve enjoyed playing solo immensely. I’ve had some success getting the family to play party games like “One Night Werewolf” but that is not the type of game I prefer. Personally, dungeon crawlers and campaign-based games are my favorite. Heat is also on its way to my house. I got lucky and found it online yesterday!

An engine builder type game you might like is Fliptown by Steven Aramini. It's a flip and write built around building suits and poker hands to gain as many and different types of points in the wild west.

Thanks for sharing - I'm a big fan of the solo modes for That's Pretty Clever, Wingspan and Everdell. That's Pretty Clever is probably the easiest one and fastest game. Even though Everdell needs the most time for setup (and a large space), I find the "opponent" is quite intuitive. Would love to try some games on your list

I don't own Everdell (yet) but I've played it. I can see how it would work well as a solo. Is the opponent anything special component-wise? Or is it some sort of logic table or something like that?

@@DavidMMcCord you are playing against "Rugwort" a rat, and after you play a card, Rugwort plays one and you roll a D8 to determine which card from the meadow he plays. His score depends on the card types he plays and you compare scores at the end to see who wins. So nothing special but if you're a die-hard Everdell fan it will scratch the itch 😂

I love war games so Fields of Fire by GMT is absolutely my favorite solo game. Hoplomachus Victorum is on its way, designed for solo play, looking forward to that.

I played chess via game app but I set up a physical game with pieces . When the ai makes a move on the screen I replicate it on the physical board. It was challenging fun.

new to the channel. liked and subscribed! i usually play solo all the time. at the moment i have been playing Fliptown, Terraforming Mars the Dice Game, Dice City, That's so Clever, Flash Point Fire Recue and Zombicide. i also play Thunderroad Vendetta solo. that game doesn't have a solo mode but i just play as all 4 teams. that is a fun game. i made up a roll and write food truck game that i tinker around with all the time.

Of the ones you mentioned, I enjoy Onirim, but I especially like Sprawlopolis (and the sequel Naturopolis, plus all the expansions). I think some of the Tiny Epic series have solo options... I'll have to look that up..

Some pure solo games that I enjoy are; Under Falling Skies, Maquis, and Final Girl. For co-op/solo-able I like; Marvel United, Zombicide, Galaxy Defenders, Dice Throne Adventures, and Too Many Bones

Have you tried Cascadia? It can be very challenging and very relaxing solo. It is probably the best solo game I’ve ever played

Have you tried the solo bot for Paladins of the West Kingdom? Nobody ever mentions it in solo lists and I honestly think it's one of the best automas out there. Very underrated, imo.

The Shooting Party, Gridcannon, Regicide, and the Solitaire Legends series are all great solitaire standard deck card games for the modern gamer.

I am more into adventure games. 20 Strong is a new game i really enjoy, One deck dungeon is good. There is a variety of Tiny Epic games several different genres.
