Thank you for this clip…. I know I just need to go to confession. But I’m so scared. I’m a devout Catholic with a dark past.. I have a such a hard time coming to grips with my past sins. Please pray for me… please.

@@jd3jefferson556well yes, but that’s because God made it that way. He could have guided the Church in a different way, to where we didn’t need confession to receive God’s mercy. But the fact that we do means that we must confront our sins deeply, and tell them to another human being, who doesn’t understand us like God does. That requires humility on our part, to express exactly and intimately how we have failed to live up to God’s plan for us, and it evokes compassion on the priest’s part, assuming he is allowing the Holy Spirit to work fully through Him. Furthermore, it is a singular event. All of this allows us to fully let go of the guilt of our sin, and be free from it. It inspires us more than almost anything to cling to Christ. And this was all God’s design, made manifest in the Church by the power and working of the Holy Spirit. Praise be to Him!

Now that is a great priest. This made me laugh. It reminds me of Ven. Fulton Sheen when he told the story of when he pushed a woman that told him that she came to church not to go to confession into the confessional box, and she immediately started confessing her sins.

Do you know what show he tells the story? I want to watch it. I’ve watched many of his shows and my daughter and I usually laugh with his stories. I love the one where he went to Lourdes with no money and did a novena to Our Lady to pay for it. It’s so funny!

This past Lent, my priest surprised me with an impromptu confession. I about had a heart attack, then. But now it's all in the past. ❤ ...and I'm so grateful 🙏🏽

@Pints With Aquinas. **03:36 min. mark. GREAT! Today I just learned that the Hebrew word for a "sparrow" also means "freedom"! Confession, when rightly understood, recalls this same sense of the twin meaning in Jesus' words in Matthew 10:29, 31! "Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. [....] So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."** + Peace + & All Good, Keith Nester and Matt Fradd 😇😇

I wish more Protestants confession their sins to one another more often. Only few Protestant churches do have a healthy environment to confess sins to one another. My current church isn't healthy enough to confess our sins to one another. My previous church up in MN was healthy enough to do such things.

I wouldn't be honest to confess my deepest darkest sins with anyone but a priest. At least with him, I can be sure of my absolution when I hear Christ threw the priest say the words "I obsolve you of your sins"

@@jd3jefferson556 Yes, because only a Catholic Priest has Gods authority, power and Sacraments to give us absolution and penance so our sins can be forgiven by God. God exhorts through His Priests. 2 Cor 5:18-20, Jn 20:21-23, Mt 18:17-18, 16:18-19

@southernlady1109 I think it's nice when protestants confess their sins to one another and I do believe when it's done in faith and love of Christ it can earn graces to help turn away from sin, however it's sad that they ignore the Resurrected Christ giving the power to His Church to forgive and bind sins after "breathing" on them. It's so plainly their in the Gospel of John. However, I want to read those other verses you sent me also, so gonna screenshot that. Thanks sister!

@@Forester-I'm still technically a Baptist but live as though I'm Presbyterian. Which I do enjoy the Presbyterian tradition. And talking about Mortification of Sin and other nerdy theological terms that gets thrown around at my local Presbyterian Church (PCA).

Funny it occurred on the 4th. There's a White Heart song called _Independence Day_ and here's a part of the lyrics: "Hear the myth of modern man You're the god of your own land They call you weak a spineless fool Say you've given up your right to rule. But I have been to the land of me And I know I was never free Freedom came when I gave it all away. That's why I call it independence day Call it independence day Let the rockets blaze across the sky Raise the flag of faith up high Let the doubters call it what they may It's independence day!"

Let's hope protestants become Catholic or at least Orthodox. (Two faces, one coin) The Holy Archangels and the Holy Heavens of Paradise: Saint Gabriel and I Heaven of Hope, Saint Raphael and II Heaven of Glory, Saint Barachiel and III Heaven of Love, Saint Uriel and IV Heaven of Wisdom, Saint Jeudiel and V Heaven of Faith, Saint Sealtiel and VI Heaven of Justice, Saint Michael and VII Heaven of Devotion; Saint Joseph and VIII Heaven of Peace, Saint Mary and IX Heaven of Charity.

The Orthodox are outside of the Church, the Ark by which the elect are saved from the deadly flood. They are not "one face of the coin."

You're very confused, so please don't confuse others. The Orthodox are schismatics, they are not the same coin, they aren't even the coin. They are outside the Church of Christ. There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church.

The true followers & family of Jesus were Jewish Christians who believed he was Messiah. Not God nor born of a virgin. They had their own Gospel written in Hebrew called the Gospel of the Ebionites & they thought Paul was a false prophet. Many things happened at Nicene, some are well know like the divinity of Jesus defined however most disgusting was the Verdict of Emperor Constantine as backed by the Orthodox Universal aka Catholic Church of Rome to declare Heresy a criminal offense punishable by death. The Ebionites & Nazarenes, two groups only separated originally by geography, were further declared the worst of the Heretics & their texts collected to be burnt. All this is attested to by the Church Fathers themselves explaining the results of Nicene inside an English translation of the original Latin available & downloadable PDF although their individual writings do highlight this as well. The new Church having for the 1st time the power of Rome behind them exterminated the true followers of the Way.
