Love to see your passion for riding. Thanks for the very informative video. There’s not much out there on these newer ebikes.

What's your musts in upgrades? Mine hopefully will be here Sunday! Just in time for presidents day!

Front fork, rear shock, and get the boost adapter and smaller front sprocket the stick one weighs about 2-3 lbs. I’m sure you know about Simple Pleasures MTB channel, he is the upgrade expert on the Rockstar. I trust anything on his channel.

What is the most effective single mode for weight savings? Thx
@MattHaley3 жыл бұрын
I don’t really have an answer for this one, sorry man! If you look up Simple Pleasure MTB on KZbin, he has upgraded many parts on his Rockstar. I think his bike is around 80 lbs. or so. And if you ask him he usually will reply, I’ve asked for advice and not all my questions get a response. Still admire the dude tho. Give him a subscribe! I don’t really focus on weight savings because if I save a few oz on a component I’ll ruin it by eating a burrito that day. A California Burrito at my local shop is over a pound and I’ll scarf that whole thing !

I’m only 5’7” and am thinking about buying this bike. I have rode motorcycles, bikes all my life. Do you think this bike would be too tall for me?
@MattHaley2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kerry, it might not be too big, I think you could adjust sag on front and rear and drop the seat to fit you. I think your experience riding bikes would make up for the rest.

Thanks for the review. How do you feel about the power of the Rockstar? I am probably going to buy one, but I have ridden a few bikes with a Bafang over 1000watts and want to make sure it feels strong with your weight going up a steep hill. Any power comments would be appreciated. Thanks
@MattHaley3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Todd, I feel there is plenty of power, in climbing gear and power assist 5 (max) I can climb anything I can get traction on. I’m mashing the pedals up steep hills and as long as I can keep the front wheel down and rear tire moving, I can climb. Part of what makes power and torque is the amps in the battery, and at 21 amps SR is capable of most everything. I hope you get one, I can assure you will like it.

Glad you got your rockstar! I was thinking about it but decided not to after seeing all the unhappy people who preordered and not getting bikes on the sondors fb page ..
@MattHaley3 жыл бұрын
I respect your decision. Are you looking at a different eMTB? There is a bike out there that I want next!
@Suisk83 жыл бұрын
@@MattHaley yes sir I'm looking at more known bikes from Giant,Trek,specialized and the like.. looks like the rockstar is hard to come by .. was talking to a guy that preordered early 2021 and delivery was pushed back numerous times still no bike.. He mentioned the company is in bankruptcy now and cant get a refund..

Those bikes are cool and someone might feel more comfortable with established brands like those you mentioned. I’m well aware of the constant delays and shipping dates being moved more than once and that’s got to be frustrating. I’m not sure of the terms and conditions of the sale your buddy’s bike, but that’s wack not giving someone their money back for non-performance of a contract. Sondors business model is to take the order and your payment, they then order the bike and the price difference of what the customer paid and the price to make the bike is their profit. I’m okay with that, but the pandemic makes that model frustrating for the customers. Sondors could do a hell of a lot better job communicating to the people that paid for bikes. I don’t know what sort of people are running that part of the company. But I’d fire their asses tomorrow if I was Storm. Then I’d go eat a cheeseburger or two, that dude is skinny AF. I doubt Sondors is going BK, e-bikes are so popular right now anyone could have a respectable brand and make money. Even Walmart eBikes are selling.

Dude….we have that same laundry hamper 🤣🤙🏻nice review, good info. Thanks for shout out man too! So the spring weight at 550lbs wasn’t enough🤔. Did you try it? Kinda concerned now with the weight of the bike. I’m 6’1” 208, hopefully it works out for me. If not I’ll upgrade the spring. Great review👍🏻
@MattHaley3 жыл бұрын
Yeah! Great minds think alike, that laundry basket rules man! 😉 Tried the 550 and was too soft over big jumps. I had it on about three days. The 750 spring shock was like $60 and it works much better! Not much dampening left but making it work.
