In this video about core and abs exercises, I show you what I think are the best exercise to get a strong and muscular core.
I never believed in the so called core routines you see all over the place. Your abs are as any other muscle in your body. To make your abs and your core stronger and to get the so called six pack, you need to ensure progressive overload. In other words, you need to choose core and abs exercises that challenge you strength wise and that give room for progress in the long term.
In this calisthenics tutorial i show you how you can achieve both a string and muscular core with bodyweight exercises that are easily adjustable for any level.
The first exercise is the core slide out which is great if you have absolutely no equipment. This exercise hots your abs in a different way and can be made as difficult as you want by following an easy principle.
The second exercise, with several progressions to accommodate for all levels is the leg raise. It is perhaps the best core and abs exercise out there if you ask me and you only need something to hang from, or support your arms on.

great tips sondre. Some people give up before even trying and still find a way to blame someone or something else for their shortcomings

These are great. How about for the back core muscles?

What about hanging from your bend knees on the bar and then using the abdominals to pull up? Feels great on the back, and the hand are not the limiting factor.

Correction to the misleading title. "Abs and plank exercises are not that effective when trained incorrectly". Abs is for aesthetics mostly, planks is a finishers not a "display of core strength". What this guy is demonstrating is "Core workouts" hence why core in title is misleading/misused. Train your core 2/3 times a week to feel results. Throw in abs workout once a week. Combined with core workouts not only will your abs pop out more and sooner but you will notice how your stamina and endurance increase as well as your strength! - from an ex athlete that trained in sport camps and sport gyms (yes very different from normal gyms)

These are the Minimalist Gym Rings from Movement Made 😊 They are of my own design and sustainably sourced and produced 🌿 they pack down to 1/3 of the size, half the weight and I also made a big effort to make them look damn good in the living room 😁

So the things that i might be able to do, "dont work", so you show me some exercises that are completely impossible for me. In the meantime, i am 59 and still look pregnant.

You clearly didn’t watch much of the video 😅 What I am suggesting is, instead of using the same “routine” over and over again and instead of doing exercises that eventually just work in your stamina rather than strength, that you instead use a strategy that allow your to gradually make exercises more and more difficult. I am also showing exercises that are accommodating for all levels. I am pretty sure you could do lying knee raises as suggested in the video. Or even the slide out, by not sliding far out at all, then gradually slide longer out as you get stronger. It doesn’t matter if you’re 70 years old and had 10 babies. I also introduced these to my own mother, a mom of 4 😊
