When I first heard Curve in the early 90's, I thought wow that production is so cool, sonically amazing. It's both dark and beautiful. The lyrics to this song are amazing, one of my favorite tracks of all time. "Peace in a world free from religion Peace in a world where everyone gets heaven"

I remember being really excited by these early Curve EP's - they seemed to arrive out of nowhere with this fully formed, unique sound. They're often labelled as a shoegaze band but they really didn't have much in common with other bands in that category.

To me; and I know they're compared to Garbage often, but came first of course; Curve falls generally in the same alt rock with shoegaze/electro influences genre as Garbage, but while Garbage veered into more as their catalog grew; Curve veered darker and harder, more industrial and less dreampoppy. Always edgier and more cynical than Garbage to me. More 90s! Less early-augtes slickness of 75%+ of Garbage catalog. Not a dis, just an observation.

Curve were BETTER than all other bands in shoegaze. Dean and Tony polished this wall of sound and morphed it into a magical fantasy atmosphere, where you can drown, it really captivates you

I really like this band (one of my favourite shoegaze bands probably), Doppelganger, Cuckoo and Gift are three great albums. Certainly a very interesting band and yes, they influenced many artists, most notably Garbage. They have this NIN type industrial rock style mixed with some dance'y rhythms and a lot of shoegaze guitars (Keven Shields actually played on the Gift album) which makes for a very unique combo, certainly no other shoegaze bands sounds like them + I think that Toni Halliday's vocals are one of the best in 90s alt rock

Come Clean is as awesome as doppelganger or cuckoo. CC is one of CRIMINAllY UNDERRATED albums. It should be as known as Prodigy's Fat Of the Land

You should try their cover of I Feel Love, very dreamy. It's originally from a comp called Ruby Trax, which is a tie-in with the 40th anniversary of UK (NME?) Singles Chart. 40 acts covering 40 (no.1?) pop songs in the UK, and there are some intriguing pair-ups.

Thank you. My favorite band of all time. My favorite lead female singer of all time. Cuckoo is my favorite album of all time. The live version SanDiego of Die Like a Dog is a wild ride.

Odd choice of song to start your Curve journey with. Not one of their more noteworthy tunes and they had a lot of them. Fait Accompli is usually the great starter track like I wanna be adored for Stone Roses fans or Vapour Trail for Ride fans. Curve was a great band and deserved more of the spotlight.

one would think a large factor is the bass playing either it grabbed you or not... at least for me it's very significant reason for my being a fan.
