@@Beluga_Too NO..."Hum, released on April 11, 1995, by RCA Records" Wikipedia...I was managing the largest Adult Entertainment Club in Houston, TX in 1995 when this song dropped and had to limit how many times this song could be used by entertainers - all the girls wanted to use Stars in their sets.

Their most recent album Inlet from 2020 is really, really, really freaking good. It has the classic HUM sound, with some Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, doom metal thrown in.

I love it when the younger generation reacts to the music I jammed to when I was a teenager / early 20s cruzin around Arlington TX :) Cruzing and skating. Such an obsucre band to react to and a band I listened to every day. I think I still have this CD in one of my many CD folders in my closet.

these guys are from Champaign, IL (as is Alison Krauss, REO Speedwagon, and The Poster Children), which is just about an hour north of my town. Seen them live several times, and were amazing EVERY time! The british band Yuck reminds me of these guys a LOT, check em out sometime!

They made one of the late night shows with this song. Look up HUM Stars Live Late Night. Those tags should pull it up. Might have been Conan in the 90s. Great video / song man I thumbed up and subscribed.

@@TiamatSorakaSolotop I really think most reviewers would understand the greatness of this band if they listened to downward is heavenward. Die hard fans love you’d prefer an astronaut just as much as everyone else because of how gritty it can be, but downward is heavenward is Hum at at their absolute musical peak. Also reactors should be sure to include the 3 bonus tracks that were put on the vinyl and CD later on.

I like your reactions. Like the honesty and intelligence. Stars is one of the weaker tracks off the album IMHO. It's a concept album and is a journey. But there are far deeper tracks on this album. And don't get me started on the next album. Oh my god

Sorry to flood your comments section. One mistake the band made, is the same mistake the band DIG made. Single word for their names, and a name nobody will (or would ) remember later. If you look up HUM on Google look at all the non HUM stuff you get back. same with DIG, or Jellyfish another outstanding 90s band that should have made it bigger.
