Question: When is a song or instrumental considered to be a, "Progressive," versions of their genre? Like progressive Jazz, Rock or Folk music. Like what is progressive music.

Proggressive rock, for example, is rock music but there are unusual time signatures and chords used in their composition and they are usually more hard to play and require more technique. They also tend to be longer than usual songs. I think you can say this about every "proggressive" genre. Basically, prog songs sound a bit unusual but very cool. Listen to Dream Theatre for example, they are one of the biggest prog overlords in music right now.
