One of my favorites of their early covers. This one and their Maximum the Hormone covers were great for Mayu's screamo.

They did a great job on this song.. They're lost Saki to a solo career but haven't missed a beat.. check out their revised version of "Rise" (evolve) "Back into the Wild" and cover of Loudness "Crazy Night" Tamu and Haraguchi-san making sure to fill in any spaces left by Saki, and Hazuki absolutely killing it on guitar..Meanwhile Queen Mayu, being Queen Mayu !

Hazuki killed it on Crazy Nights. They have different styles but IMO Hazuki is just as good as Saki. I also say that because while liking both a lot I always liked Hazuki little better haha.

I feel Mayu's lower vocals were awesome, but we all have our own tastes so all good with your opinion. She did hold that scream out and that was impressive. Love this cover.

Yes Mayu nailed it on that scream. She does sing lower on the verse. Probably the lowest I have heard her. But without being in the studio that day hard to say why. Maybe she tried higher but just did not feel right. Mayu is a great singer but she has her limitations too like most singers. Awesome cover from one of the best bands out there. Even though they are a four piece now they been touring in Japan and kicking ass. Almost sound heavier with more bass now that Saki is gone and Hazuki is just shredding it up even more now. She is an amazing guitarist that we get to see take the spot light more now. Check out their cover of Loudness Crazy Nights sometime they just covered last month when they toured with loudness. Hazuki has two solos on that one and she just blew it out of the water. They are also working on new song and material too and looks like by the teases just finished shooting a new music video so look for that soon.

Welcome to Nemophila! I second every recommendation from L.A55 above. This is a very diverse band with 37 original songs probably 40+ cover songs, but I never counted the covers. Without knowing your specific taste, I’ll just add one. Odyssey is a power metal ballad on one end of their discography with zero screams. Zen is the opposite side with only screams. Most of their music is a blend of the two similar to this vocal range. Oh let me add one more called AMA-TE-RAS. This one song has a range of sub-genres in it. Enjoy.

Although I've been into this wonderful band since more-or-less it's beginning, I kinda envy you being able to dive in for teh first time! Versatile, technically superb, insanely charismatic...my favorite band anywhere! They have a pretty deep catalog of original songs at this point and they're all over the map - without causing the band not to have a strong identity. From metalcore bangers to some of the best power ballads (no, really!) you will ever hear. And as this one might clue you in on, they're a fantastic cover band (best version of Master of Puppets EVER). Nemophila are absolutely magical live, something that thankfully hasn't changed since Saki left and they decided to go forward as a quartet (rather than replacing her). I saw them just recently up here in Sapporo (in a very small venue!), and it was every bit as amazing as the previous times I've seen them, including the legendary show at Whisky a Go Go in LA.
