The entire band is incredibly tight and super talented. This song was actually a re-recording of an older one, specifically to show off their (at the time) new drummer, who made the song sound quite a bit different. This was also kinda what got their career really going, because the shocking nature of it made it go viral in reaction channels, which really helped their exposure. That being said, this is far from being their best song, nor do the surprises end here already. :) Her name is Tatiana, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass, and Vlad on the drums. If you keep following the band then you will likely talk a lot more about the bassist too, because he has a very prominent role in the band and mixing and absolutely shreds it in a lot of the songs. Official video suggestions: Teacher, Teacher Perennial I Speak Astronomy Pit Of Consciousness Judgement & Punishment Cloud Factory Retrospection Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Perennial live at Wacken Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne Teacher, Teacher live in Melbourne Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne If you happen to just go with one over the other then I'd suggest the high quality live versions, if available (all the live suggestions here are high quality), but the official videos are definitely worth watching too. There is also a good one take vocal performance of Judgement & Punishment that people will surely suggest a lot.

The only thing they did is some overlays of her own clean voice, but other than that it's all her. You haven't seen anything yet. Tatiana is a beast. Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole. Cheers
@Chooopy
@Chooopy 3 жыл бұрын
There is some layering in the second chorus under the words "brings life" etc. It also seems like they had to take multiple guitar tracks from multiple takes because from the chorus to the verse you can hear the distorted guitar sound ring out behind the cleans. Not taking it away from them, it's a studio session with post production, but not fake in any way.
@CgGoil
@CgGoil 3 жыл бұрын
@@Chooopy , exactly. That is simply just how you record a song in a studio. So its just as anyone would do. As you say, it doesn’t take anything away from them, because they still play their instruments and sing the song.

Welcome to the world of Jinjer. A little info for you: they are from Ukraine and the members are as follows; Guitar- Roman, Drums- Vlad, Bass- Eugene and our gorgeous vocal beast- Tatiana. I noticed you admired her tattoos, that's nothing, this video is 4 years old she's MUCH more tatted up now. You need to check out a live concert video from them next may I suggest a few: Who's gonna be the one Perennial (@ Wacken Open Air 2019) On the Top (live in Kiev) Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev) There's a ton more songs you can react to but I think this is a good starting point. Told ya!!!! Absolutely perfect reaction. I discovered them in February and I have been obsessed ever since. I've been listening to all manner of metal my entire life and this is the best band I have heard since mid 90s Tool. They single-handedly got me back into metal after several years out of it. Just so you know, this is their shock intro song and it is among their "worst". You absolutely have to check out more of this band. I truly think that they are the next enormous thing. She is the best vocalist of any kind I've ever heard and I still get the Goosebumps just like you did. You'll see. Try this one next!!!! Perennial live at Wacken

"I don't know anything about this band but the drummer is amazing." Then mission accomplished. The reason they recorded this was explicitly to showcase Vladislaw, since he had just joined the band. As far as the timing, the beginning is in 7/4, then it goes into 3/4.

This song also I think perfectly encapsulates Pisces as a sign. Even if you're not into astrology, it's just really perfect. Even the way that the song about halfway through changes to that like reverse tempo thing gives me chills every time because it's like the water rippling back from the edges of the pond. And then there's another big splash right at the end. It's pretty insane

That was a PROPER reaction. 🤘 It is wonderful to watch people who appreciate metal get their first exposure to Jinjer. I had this same reaction 2 years ago, and the band had already been kicking around for 8 years or so. How I missed them for so long, I’ve no idea. Jinjer recorded this video specifically to highlight their (then) new drummer, but Tatiana’s extreme vocals stole the show.

I recommend Jinjer's entire discography! I'm glad to see the reaction! Check out the band Spiritbox! The vocalist (Courtney LaPlante) and the lead guitarist (Mike Stringer) are married. The lead singer of Jinjer (Tatiana) + the bassist (Eugene) are both fans of Spiritbox too, they've mentioned that Spiritbox are one of the few active metal bands that have a female vocalist which they actually enjoy. In the words of Tatiana: "Spiritbox is *bomb!"* I'd recommend their songs "Holy Roller" + "Rule of Nines" + "Belcarra" to begin with!

I'm glad you appreciated what Vlad was doing on the drums -that was the whole point of this video originally. They just hired Vlad as their new drummer and were so impressed with him that they wanted to showcase him in a live session. If you listen to the studio version you will hear a very dramatic difference in the drumming. And yeah there's four time signatures, 7/8 for the verse, 10/8 for the chorus, 6/8 for the pre-chorus, bridge and outro and a brief 4 bar transition in 4/4 before the first chorus.

In first place... Astounding review... I've seen sooo many reactions to this song... and yours is definitely one of the best. Your sound setup is almost perfect, we can hear your comments over the music without it being too low or muffled. You also have some knowledge analyze the band (most people just react with "wow", "amazing", "can't believe it", "is it her?"). Congratulations on that! You got a new sub! I discovered Jinjer as well this year, and while I didn't like growls, they made me into it!! This band mixes a lot of genres from progressive metal, to hardcore and death metal, including weird stuff as pop, hip-hop, reagge!! and whatever they feel to, integrating it flawlessly to sound awesome!! On the musical side, this song is the perfect intro song to know them, and for the shock factor, but it's not their regular stuff. That doesn't mean is not a good song, it is, but you should definitely check some of their other stuff.. like: The most famous: - Perennial (live at wacken 2019, Germany) - Who's gonna be the one (official live video) - Judgement and Punishment (there are 3 good versions of this, my favourite is the One Take Vocal performance, but there is a very good one live at Melbourne, and the official video as well) - Teacher, Teacher (both live and video are good ones) - Pit of Conciousness (both live and video are good ones) - Retrospective - I Speak Astronomy Some good oldies: - No hoard of value - Outlander - Cloud Factory Their harder stuff: - The Prophecy (new video a couple of days ago) - Sit, Stay, Roll over - Ape - Scissors Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole!!! I hope you enjoy it!!

Watched probably 100 Reactions to this song, many of professional singers and voice coaches and you're the first one who referred to her sound a *Jazzy.* Thank you. I was starting to thing I was taking crazy pills or something but the first time I heard this song was without video and my mind immediately went to a 1940s jazz bar with dim lights and cigar smoke hanging just under the cealing. Like plucked right out is some noir short story. How can I be the only one hearing this? Good to finally hear someone else say it.

Welcome to Jinjer!!! Great reaction, and you've got to see their other stuff. Each band member is in a league of their own and you should see the lyrics. You CAN'T go in the wrong order, but I'd recommend: Perennial - live at Wacken Who is gonna be the one - live Teacher, Teacher Judgment and Punishment - Tatiana's one take I speak Astronomy Retrospection The prophecy - brand new Etc, etc.

Welcome to the Jinjer Army.....It only gets better from here. Pisces is literally "entry level" Jinjer. Next on the list. Perennial (Live at Wacken).
