I was waiting for tonight’s upload and literally just dropped everything the moment I saw Amaterasu on the thumbnail. From one of my all-time favorite games to another (Chrono Trigger and now Okami), I’m trying to not get too hopeful that there could be songs covered from Journey or Dragon Quest sometime in the future.

I admit I’ve been pretty bummed since Ammy wasn’t the last smash fighter, not that I’m upset about Sora I just feel like a few great choices were forgone for less needed characters, but seeing her get the recognition and love her game deserves when I’m not expecting it always makes me happy.

Amaterasu,Shantae,Wonder Boy,Geno,Crono,Ryu (Breath Of Fire),Rayman. They had a LOT of opportunities to put in old school candidates,But instead we got a bunch of recent game characters taking up space. Like don't get me wrong,I love that characters like Joker and Steve made it in,But did we really need Byleth,Minmin,Kazuya,Pyra and Mythra,And Sephiroth in too? Not only did they already have representatives,But they don't have the same weight as someone like Terry,K. Rool,Banjo & Kazooie. Also,The fact that they made a Super Mario RPG remake after years of people asking for Geno in smash,Just feels like a slap in the face.

I think what makes people endear Okami so much is the how the game truly makes you feel, loved. You may be the Hero of Hyrule or the Saviour of the Mushroom Kingdom, but how many of those games makes the common folk come together and show gratitude to your deeds?
