One thing that needs to stay the same is G.U.N harming Maria on purpose, and not some accident. If you keep Maria alive and have G.U.N look innocent by having a commander say, "Oops, it wasn't supposed to end up like this," then at that point just create a new character since you taken away shadow's main motivation of how he changes to become better and to accept the loss of someone important.

You know, in regards to the potential post credit character tease... The second trailer clearly showed a disconnect between the goals of the Robotniks and Shadow with the whole "We can rule the world" VS "When we're done, there won't be anything left to rule" suggesting that Shadow is going to go against his masters because of his own intentions. Then you got Ivo there seeing his Grandfather's (or maybe Father in this continuity) creation, that is Sonic's equal, rebell against its creator because of its autonomy, which the exact reason Eggman only trusts machines. Wouldn't that get him thinking? And then there's that his condition to help Sonic was getting one of his quills.... Of course Amy is the next mayor main character they should add but the first movie only teased Tails and Knuckles was revealed later. And Amy didn't debut alone in the games either. I think the chances are good we might get the reveal of a certain *other* faker. A steel plated one...

Jim Carrey could possibly return for more Sonic movies for the reason you mentioned but also because in 2022 the day that he talked about himself retiring was April Fools Day! These Sonic movies are marking the first time in Jim's whole acting carrier that he'll be in a trilogy instead of just one movie and sometimes a sequel.

Team Sonic is literally complete with or without Amy. Team Sonic is comprised of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. The big 3. Amy is the "And sometimes Y" character of that dynamic, which Shadow is as well. Similar to how you also have the "Sonic & Tails" dynamic, "Sonic & Knuckles" dynamic, "Shadow & Rouge" dynamic, or "Team Dark" which is Shadow, Rouge AND Omega. Silver and Blaze are also seen as a duo, but can operate on their own. You've ALSO got "Sonic, Shadow & Silver" now. But just "Team Sonic" is referring to the big 3. And while I'm a little disappointed they aren't reflecting on the girl characters yet when they were introduced so early in the games, it's only because of their character placements. Which is why I'm not complaining about Blaze or Sage not being introduced yet. NOT because they're girls and we NEED a girl character to check a box on the list. I don't how people think this mentality supports representation when it just reduces girl characters to "The Girl character".

I personally think rouge is more likely to be post-credit scene character than Amy. The theories about Amy being photoshopped out to avoid spoilers make me think she is more likely to just appear in the movie normally and if Shadow were to become a G.U.N agent, like in the games, that could create an opportunity for an introduction scene. Somebody in G.U.N would be like "let us introduce you to your partner" and then Rouge appears. Though, on the other hand, the previous 2 character teases were were more open-anded and question-provoking than that, so this makes makes this idea less likely. Maybe Amy would be the teased character after all. When it comes to Metal, considering Sonic giving Robotnik his quill was highlighted in the trailer like it's going to be a plotpoint and how theories about Metal connect to the quill, he is also more likely to just be a surprise character for the movie proper. Unless the same quill is going to be used for more than one purpose or Metal Sonic has nothing to do with the quill. That was rambly. Tl;dr I talk of probability and then realise my predictions aren't really that probable.

If Amy is the character that gets introduced in the post credits scene, I would imagine this: Amy learns of Sonic through her tarot cards. She builds this idea of a heroic legend, one she wants to meet. When she does meet him, she realizes that Sonic isn't flawless: he's matured enough to leave the nest, but he still makes mistakes. If Sonic CD is adapted, said mistakes can be shown how they can affect the future & past. Intially Amy wants this card reading to be right, to lead her to the friend she wants. Amy sees Sonic for who he is & Sonic sees who she is. Someone who wants to make a friend, something he can relate with. Sure Amy can be a little forward, but that's because she wears her heart on her sleeves & will speak her mind when she wants to.

I don’t think Maria survived because of that one shot in the trailer with Gerald and shadow sitting next to her while shadow is holding her hand with what looks to be an explosion that might have killed her plus Gerald could be manipulating eggman with his silliness only for him to show his true motivation near the climax and the director and the team still want to show respect to the games but will tone down the violence and find an other way to have her die like in the games and shadow is most definitely not going to be a one and done character because after this movie release they definitely will want to do a shadow spin off movie

About the Chao Garden, I remember seeing in movie 2 ChaOs and Chao Garden written on Tails' pc screen, alongside other references including Extreme Gear so there's still a chance that the Chao are real in the movies Also it would be so funny if Tails was the one who created Omochao in this universe as idk a stress relief toy or an actual weapon (there was an Omochao gun in Shadow 05)

This is literally not just the Best Year of Shadow but it'll never be topped. They did way too much to ever surpass themselves. Animations, Cartoons, Manga, Movie, standalone game, game crossover, toys, and the list just goes on. As for the video. You should definitely cite/show the sources/quotes on screen when you're speaking about them, just in general. Otherwise it comes off as a "trust me bro" type of thing. I really hope that Amy is a surprise addition to this film, simply because I feel that she is extremely important to Shadow's redemption and story (at least in the games). Her cheerful and passionate attitude perfectly balances Shadow's edgy side and she is the glue that holds Sonic's friend group together. It would be extremely heartwarming to see an appropriately earnest Amy calm down a vengeful Shadow in the film. I will absolutely lose my mind if Rouge is in the film and they have kept that completely secret somehow, but I'm not having any expectations for that at all, lol. As far as Maria, I think it would be perfectly fine and appropriate to refer to Maria's death in an abstract way, in the same manner as the Dark Beginnings. They handled it perfectly there - the moment is impactful, you know exactly what happened, but because it's abstracted I don't think it would traumatize any kids watching.

That's the last thing we need. Also, if you think of Sonic and Shadow is yin and yang, then you have the wrong interpretation of their character. One of the few times where it's appropriate to draw comparison to DBZ, it's more akin to (especially JPN) Goku and Vegeta. Goku isn't purely heroic, likewise neither is Sonic. They are free spirited, which is a very important distinction. This is why Sonic and the Black Knight (which isn't the only source to support this idea btw) will always be an important and GOOD Sonic game.

So basically he’s going to do the same thing that adventure 2 and shadow the hedgehog (05) did; not really show Maria get shot but heavily imply that someone did in a flashback cutscenes thing. People seem to forget that only in the Japanese version of shadow (05) did kids actually see Maria get shot while the American version got cut along with the dialog that went with it because you can still access it in the games files it’s just not in the base game itself.

I fully expected them to change how Maria does, but I just hope that it’s still intentionally as a direct action done by the humans. If it’s purely an accident it weakens Shadow’s hatred for humanity. It sucks that they can’t imply as much as even the most recent Shadow game, but I get that there is a lot more money in this movie than any game and that it will reach more people and it would upset a lot of parents and children if they kept it as is. Especially how touchy the imagery might be with the uptick in with you know what in schools in the years since the original SA2 came out. They’d lose a lot of money, have a lot of backlash and probably ruin chances of having successful sequels to the level they have been seeing. The implication from the games is supposed to be horrifying, especially that Shadow saw it happen, but it sucks we can’t imply such tragedy and human cruelty on the big screen. I also hope they don’t make it Shadow’s fault somehow. He needs to hate humanity before remembering his promise to Maria.

The post credit scenes from the last two movies with Tails and Shadow were internet breaking, and tons of people were screaming with happiness, and it was such a shame that the Knuckles show didn't have a tease like that in the post credits scene.
