When I see this and think of the Advance/Battle saga and the Dreamcast Era as a whole, it gets me emotional. I don’t just mean that in a nostalgic way either. The characters weren’t so one-dimensional as of recent and together they all contributed to exciting, memorable adventures. Sega really did have a solid grip on its mascot before the dark ages.

What a darling ending! I actually designed a concept art of a final boss phase whose attack patterns and background are very similar to Nonaggression. I call him Cybergeist. His form is like Ultimate Gemerl but with six appendages as opposed to Gmerl's 4 and is a lot more hideous looking. Unlike Gemerl, the Cybergeist was pure downright evil while Gemerl was just out of control because of Eggman's abuse towards him. Or at least that's what I think was the case.

Tails managed to overwrite Gemerl's original programming as a weapon and make him peaceful, but even so, the "real" Emerl is long gone. Now Gemerl, he could've shown up at some point but was criminally forgotten about over time...

they weren't really teaming up in sonic mania. Eggman was just trying to get the ruby back, stall for time until sonic's super form wears out and leave to fight another day. but i do like how much more cool he is in games like sonic mania or sonic advance 3, not afraid to fight against traitors. Unlike against Metal Sonic in Sonic Heroes where he was disappointing (i also need to say that Eggman also CREATED Metal Sonic so he should know about weak points or how to deactivate him just like for Gemerl
