I feel for the ones who haven’t played the advanced games yet. They are honestly some of the most fun you could have in a sonic game. I wish sega went back to these and rereleased the advance games just so the younger fans could enjoy this almost “hidden gem”

How does this have so few views? This is some quality stuff. Lovely video. Looking forward to the next part!

You did a good job reviewing this game. I'm glad I discovered your channel from the Sonic Advance 2 KZbin Short you made. I have a ton of great memories playing this game and it's still one of my top ten favorite Sonic games.

I've never played any of the advance games before sadly, but this was such an amazing retrospective! I'll for sure be here for what you have coming next :)

What i remember most from this game was the music, playing as knuckles and feeding my tiny chao! Had a lot of fun with this one. I think it's the first game I ever tried to beat with every character

Sonic advance was awesome. Fun obscure fact there's a code you can input when selecting your character that allows you to play as Sonic with Tails following like in Sonic 2 and 3. It's like you can tell they were testing the waters for what they did later with character swapping in the sequel's. Who knows maybe it was intended for Sonic Advance 1 also and got cut and that's all that's left?

Absolutely loved this look back at Sonic Advance. It was one of my very first EVER GBA games, I remember getting it for Christmas right along side Super Mario World 2. That was my first introduction to Sonic as a character and the franchise. It was one of my favorite games. The music (my fave aspect), the visuals, the mobility of the game like.... all of your points hit the mark. LOVED THIS PERSPECTIVE! Long live Sonic, Mandy!!!

I feel like Sonic Advance often gets ignored by the general community because it’s technically not part of the main series. Go up and ask a Sonic fan what the “main Sonic series” consists of, and they’ll probably say “the Genesis sidescrollers and the 3D titles plus Mania”. It’s a real shame, because Sonic Advance is so good. I like it way more than Sonic 1 or CD. The one gripe I have with it is that the music isn’t all that memorable, but the sequels would make up for that.

Absolutely! I think the fanbase underestimates the impact the Advance trilogy had on people. The Sonic Advance trilogy were the first sonic games to many fans and further contributed to the success that Sonic Team experienced in the early 2000s.

Its so good, it’s worthy enough to be the real sonic 4.

The fact that the Sonic Advance series got 3 games and the Sonic Adventure series got 2 games just comes to show that the small things can outnumber the big things

This was amazing, glad to see the advance games still get some love. ❤ I never owned any of them but weirdly enough i played and borrowed my cousins gba and copy too when i would see him and always wanted to play them. I think at that point i had a ds so i had Rush but i still wanted to play advance as i loved the 2D sonic formula. Btw really appreciate how you had a little anecdote for every level as you described the game makes the video feel more like a personal passion project.

Thanks for the great video, the Advance Trilogy is very special and are the best 2D Sonic games to me, my absolute favorite is Advance 3

I remember back when i was like 12 or so my mother used to work on a rehab for recovering addicts for a while and one of the patients "really cool guy btw, hope he's doing well nowadays" had this game and man it was a blast to play that i spent hours on it. These games were quite a underrated gem in my opinion, the soundtrack was great. Deserves a remake of all 3 games

19:25 actually, the GBA doesn't have a sound chip. All music comes out of the CPU iirc

I will never understand why they didn't recycle the running animations for Sonic and Knuckles in Advance 3. I understand Advance 2 as it was a little experimentive, but my god Advance 1 was superior.

Actually, Sonic Advance 1 was released in 2001
@VoicedByMandy2 жыл бұрын
Yes - It was released in 2001 in Japan, and in February 2002 in North America. I’m using the North American release dates because it better reflects how I was introduced to the Sonic Advance games as a child.
