Salty makes fun of people who like Sonic Heroes for having "bad opinions", but later in the stream (he didn't include this in the video) he said that he hated the Sonic Generations Seaside Hill level, which is an INFINITELY worse opinion than liking Sonic Heroes. It's literally the most well designed level in the entire game, there's so many various branching paths to take, interesting mechanics and gimmicks, it's perfectly paced, the use of 2D sections is very tasteful, the music is great, It looks beautiful, and just like any good boost level it's incredibly satisfying to master. It's genuinely such an incredible level.

In the truck section, the game loading in like that makes sense for the original camera angle. They probably made loading zones situational/hard coded instead of or in addition to checking the camera position, which is something this mod didn't mess with, so that result makes sense.

To be fair, Sonic probably wouldn't get motion sickness from moving like this. Motion sickness usually happens when someone's environment is moving but they themselves aren't. Like if you're walking, the slight bobbing of your head doesn't nauseate you because the physicality of your body lets you anticipate how your vision will change. In Sonic's case, the spin jumps and the homing attacks and the ultra speed are all anticipated movements, so he probably wouldn't be nearly as distressed as we are watching it

This video has caused me to realize that s Sonic doesn't just have super speed as a power, but also super fuckin perception as a side effect by proxy. You have to be able to see, comprehend, and register all of that so quickly in order to not d i e, and Sonic can just do all of that like it's nothing. Now that I think about it, it would be pretty cool I think if shadow is in 1st person, gets a gun, and remove the spinning camera when jumping which will turn the game into a movement shooter.
