Chugga, I don’t know if you’ll read this but I feel like I need to share this. When I was in the 3rd grade I was at my lowest point in my life. I was bullied and harassed by most everyone else in my grade. I felt as if nothing else could help me get out of the pit I was in. Then one day I found your Let’s Play of Super Mario Sunshine and was hooked, I felt like I had something in my life to look forward too. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me out of that pit. Sonic colors DS was my first Sonic game. I begged my mom to get it when I first got my 3ds, and I will never regret it. I struggled with globetron until I finally found the rhythm, and I'd farm his stage for lives because he was an easy S rank or A rank. This game brings me so much nostalgia and happiness, and seeing you cover it? Brings tears to my eyes. I don't know what exactly is going on, but even if you don't do LP's again, I'll be here. 5:50 The reason the Drill Wisp can feel awful is because it has an unintuitive control-scheme where diagonal inputs just... don't work at all. Knowing that though, it becomes a LOT more satisfying to control by only tapping the d-pad's cardinal directions when you need to turn like you're "steering" Sonic, rather than the Wii version (and most games that do this) where you would simply hold the angle you want to go. For example, in that part of the video, if you're entering that U-turn facing right, you would press ONLY STRAIGHT UP to face Sonic that way, then let go and press STRAIGHT RIGHT to face him that way, then let go press STRAIGHT DOWN to face down, and etc. for each turn you approach. The Void Wisp is also similar in needing you to only tap directions when necessary instead of holding them down the whole time, but I hope you enjoy Planet Wisp and Aquarium Park much more with this because being able to flexibly angle around tight turns at high speeds makes them my favorite Sonic levels in the whole series. 🔥

Hey Chugga! Huge fan! Really loving the new videos and everything! Colours DS is one of my favorite games ever so I'm so happy to see you cover it and promote it like this! I did wanna add something though. You added that the Special Stage theme in Colours DS is a remix of Battle: City Area from Sonic Heroes when only the first 20 seconds or so really sound similar at all (In my opinion I don't even think that, I think they sound alike at around the 20 second mark, match for about less than 15 seconds and then sound nothing alike.) The source for that trivia is from a user named Ramboa who added it to the Sonic Wiki Zone without a source eight years ago now, and even then, no other site (Not even TV tropes.) makes such a claim about said detail, so personally I just think its a fringe case of someone making a claim that isn't really true without any source and people just running with it. I don't have the best ear for music but I like to think it's fairly easy to find matching motifs or patterns (That and I've been playing Colours DS all my life and have that special stage music down to almost perfect memory.) so while I appreciate the attention brought to the fact, I can't help but feel it might be a bit disingenuous to call it a remix. I imagine this will mostly be up to interpretation and belief at the end of the day, but I figured it'd be worth adding for the sake of throwing it out there. Thanks again for the great video and I'm really looking forward to seeing more from you in the near future!

it's surreal seeing one of the first videos you upload after returning be about colors DS you were a huge part of my late childhood, but this game, colors DS, was probably the first game i fell in love with, and its probably the reason i care so much about video games in general to this day

Love these little cleanup videos. Feels like a greatest hits compilation of all of Chugga's LPs. I hope when we reach the end that we'll still have LP 49, but if Emile wants to retire after this then I understand completely. If it is the case, I'm gonna miss him, but it's good to take one last ride down memory lane.

I think the craziest thing about Sonic Colors DS is is the canonical new first meeting between Silver and Blaze after the time reset Also of note, they even went as far as making a second opening that replaces the Wii exclusive Color powers with the Burst and Void

One of my favorite things about Colors DS is that it shows off some relationships between characters. Canonically Rouge tricked Knuckles into going to the amusement park with her. Meanwhile, Silver and Blaze felt that there was danger and arrived in the same place, making it the first time they've met in the Post-06 timeline. They get a ton of deja vu around each other and fight together against some robots. It's honestly really wholesome and makes Silver's 'Dreams of Absolution' a reality. He gets to spend time with Blaze at an amusement park and just enjoy life. Granted, they don't have those months of experience they had before, but by Generations, they've clearly grown close again, which is great for our time-space duo.
