There is no invincibility music in Sonic at least not in the main games instead they just play the title theme. I want to say it's the same with the game gear games but I don't remember.

It's in Japan. They have vending machines from the 70s that are still in fine condition. When I was there about 8 years ago I saw a good condition cigarette vending machine. I suspect it of being 70s vintage, I don't think anyone has even MADE them new in several decades at least lol.

I heard the Sonic ring sound at a cash register once and commented on it to the older lady working there because it brought an unexpected smile to my face. Then she "corrected" me and told me, "Close! It's actually the Mario coin sound." 💀

The Yakuza games have UFO Catcher machines, but for some reason they don't have these Sonic tracks. You'd think they would since it's a SEGA joint

They tend to use arcade games and machines that are from the year the games take place and none of the games take place in 1991. Yakuza 0 (late 1980s) takes place a little too early and Yakuza 1/Kiwami (2005) is too late. I do definitely believe they would fit in the game. Maybe if we got a Yakuza 0 two.

the weirdest thing for me was walking into an arcade in chapter one of Yakuza 7 (which takes place in the year 2000) and seeing a modern UFO Catcher full of Monkey Ball: Banana Mania plushes! lol

In yakuza 4 (and maybe 5) certain songs from the sonic series will play while close to restaurants or shops, one of them being “knight of the wind.”

Masato Nakamura (Sonic 1 & 2 composer) owns the rights to all Sonic 1 & 2 music (aside from the chaos emerald jingle and drowning music), which is why you barely ever hear the songs remixed or used outside of those games. For example, notice how the songs are missing from the Spotify release of the Sonic Mania soundtrack. He's gotta get paid and give permission every time his songs are used, so nowadays Sega tends to avoid using them unless absolutely necessary!

This machine actually has the same sound chip as the genesis. If that isn't crazy enough for you, Sega also made a popcorn popping machine with hardware close to that of the genesis which let you play a game while it popped.

I don't know if you take suggestions but you may be the only person on Earth who can solve the mystery of why some corner stores have the sonic rings sound effect on their registers. There is SOME known info about the business relationships between Sega and these register companies, but nobody knows how copyright of such an iconic sound effect was granted to such a random thing and never taken back.

@@XoroZ They did, but Nexpo never actually quite got to the bottom of WHY the convenience store systems use Sonic sounds, throwing out a wild guess that SegaSammy may have developed or help to develop the software. Seems like a topic that could use a definitive investigation.

As a Sonic fan, I can answer that we as a society have Spidey Senses when we hear a Sonic tune. We either rush over to where the music is coming from to check it out or we just breakdance like we normally would. Sonic music gives us as much as energy as the 5 food groups does to us

As someone from Hong Kong born in the 1990s', there used to be this Sega arcade in a Japanese department store not too far from where I live, and they used to have one of those 'New UFO Catcher Machines'. I have not thought about them for decades, but the MOMENT I heard the song in this video, the childhood memories just went flooding back to my mind!

Starlight Zone, my favourite song if the 1st game. Oh the memories. When i was a kid i played the classic collection on my DS and remember going on a family trip to do some shopping out of the country. While we were heading back i managed to get to Starlight zone, just when the city and the lights around me starting to get brighter and with the music of the zone starting to kick in i felt nice.

I had a simular (but newer game) occurance when I was at a roller skating rink that had a pretty big arcade attached. I kept hearing the Twinkle Park music from Sonic Adventure (the final part of the level with the roller coaster/where Big fishes) and looked all over until i found a sort of ticket machine with Sonic and Tails on it.

One time I was in a cha time (bubble tea place) and I saw a claw machine, I went up closer and realised it was playing a slightly remixed version of the cantina song from Star Wars, it wasn’t Star Wars licensed nor did it have any Star Wars stuff in it, they were just playing it, idk why I decided to share this story I just did

The first time that song started playing I got a chill of nostalgia. You've been playing in the arcades for hours now, pence by pence they all go down. But, all of a sudden, you stop. Right when you thought you were finished and ready to leave, you hear a familiar little tune in the back of your ear, and a chill down your spine spires. Star light Zone.

Sega music in the late 80s to early 90s (A.K.A before CD era) are very recognisable. My favourite Sega soundtrack is Space Harrier Main Theme

Fun fact: these machines use earlier beta versions of these sonic 1 tracks made around mid 1990 or so. Correct me if im wrong about the dating as i believe green hill the title screen spring yard and the special stage were made first. Then star light, marble zone, and the invincibility theme later
